NASCAR Cup Series racers Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon, and a few others recently revealed their favorite team from the National Football League.
With the regular season done and dusted, many NASCAR drivers outside the Top 16 are turning their attention to the upcoming season. While their schedules are full, some find time for activities like watching other sports. With football being a popular sport in the US, several NASCAR drivers regularly tune in to major leagues like the NFL.
Ahead of the race at Watkins Glen International, a popular Instagram page, known for NASCAR sharing news & interviews, questioned several drivers about their favorite NFL team. The said reel included answers from the likes of Austin Dillon, Ryan Preece, Ty Gibbs, Carson Hocevar, Bubba Wallace, Josh Berry, Daniel Hemric, Noah Gragson, Todd Gilliland, Joey Logano, and Tyler Reddick.
Dillon and Gilliland declared their allegiance to the Carolina Panthers, while Wallace supported the Tennessee Vols. Josh Berry rooted for the Titans, and Tyler Reddick was a Broncos fan. Aside from Hemric and Logano, nearly all the racers revealed their favorite NFL teams. Here's a look at the post on Instagram, captioned:
NASCAR drivers tell us who is their favorite NFL team…who yall got?
Despite the stark differences between the two sports, several top NFL figures have had a significant impact on NASCAR. Former football players and coaches have made their mark in the motorsport, with some as team owners and others as drivers.
Some famous NFL personalities turned NASCAR owners include Joe Gibbs (Joe Gibbs Racing), Terry Bradshaw (FitzBradshaw Racing), and Dan Marino (Elliott-Marino Racing).
NASCAR offers better fan engagement and experience than NBA or NFL, claims Ryan Blaney
While each sport has a different set of fans, many people enjoy following multiple sports throughout their lives. NBA and NFL games consistently attract large crowds, but NASCAR offers a slightly enhanced fan experience.
Unlike other sports where athletes may have limited interaction with fans, NASCAR offers greater accessibility to its drivers, both before and after race weekends.
Team Penske's #12 driver, Ryan Blaney, spoke about the same in an interview with News10NBC’s Jennifer Lewke ahead of the race at Watkins Glen International.
“I think it’s something that NASCAR does really well is that access and that experience. I think we do it better than any other sporting event. I look at baseball and football and basketball, you’re not really meeting the players or the athletes before the game. You can still see the athletes up close and personal (in NASCAR). You can really meet people you enjoy watching,” he said. (3:26 onwards).

As of now, after the Atlanta race, Ryan Blaney leads the Drivers' standings, followed closely by Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, and William Byron.
