As NASCAR prepares for a new season, 23XI Racing asked its employees what their goals for the New Year were in terms of team development. Among the few people who appeared in the interview, the response from Bubba Wallace’s former crew chief Bootie Barker stood out.

Bootie Barker became the crew chief for the No. 23 team back in September 2021. Before the 2024 season ended, 23XI Racing announced that Barker would move to a different role. Charles Denike, known for calling the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will fill Barker’s shoes starting in 2025.

While some said they wanted to win more races in 2025, others said it would be great if they could make the Championship 4 two years in a row. But here is what Bootie Barker wanted:

“For all of us to make more money!”

Thanks to Wallace’s teammate and Cup Series regular Tyler Reddick, 23XI Racing made the coveted championship race for the first time since its inception in 2020. Wallace himself finished 18th on points with six top-5s and 14 top-10s. Both Reddick and Wallace will be back next season in their respective cars.

The season kicks off on February 2 with the inaugural Clash, this time at Winston Salem’s Bowman Gray Stadium. This is also going to be the first time for the NASCAR Cup Series to return to the iconic track since 1971. The season-opening, non-point paying race used to be held previously at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Fans can watch the 200-lap event live on FOX Sports or listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio from 8 pm ET onwards.

Bubba Wallace shares heart-warming family moments from short offseason trip

Bubba Wallace and his wife Amanda recently went on a little trip to New York City. And with them, on that trip, was little Beck, Wallace, and Amanda’s newborn baby boy.

“Merry Christmas!!!!” Bubba Wallace posted on X. “Becks’ first trip from NYC! We're sure he will remember all of it!”

Amanda welcomed Beck into the world on September 29, 2024, while Wallace was in Kansas racing in the Hollywood Casino 400. Wallace finished 17th in that race and then flew home to be with his wife at the hospital.

Following the birth of their son, Wallace announced the big news through an Instagram post with the following caption:

“Amanda and I would like to introduce you to Becks Hayden! We were blessed with his presence Sunday 9/29. 9 months of waiting on this little guy, he's made it all worth it! So excited for this journey!”

Needless to say, 2025 is going to be a busy year for Bubba Wallace and Amanda.
