NASCAR driver Hailie Deegan recently shared her excitement about buying two new go-karts for road course racing.
Deegan was reportedly in talks to join the Haas Factory Team (HFT), owned by Gene Haas, for the 2025 Xfinity Series. Deegan left AM Racing earlier this season. HFT's Joe Custer also confirmed discussions, saying they see potential in Deegan. However, the latest news about HFT's new Xfinity driver lineup for 2025 has confirmed that Deegan will not be joining the team.
In her latest video on YouTube, Deegan shared another life update about purchasing new go-karts. Deegan, who has been using the same go-kart since 2015, was thrilled to finally upgrade.
“Well guys, today’s pretty exciting because we are buying two road course go-karts. I’m super excited for it because I’ve had the same go-kart since 2015. The one that I had is absolutely trash,” said Deegan (00:38).
She also said that she wanted to buy a go-kart for her boyfriend Chase Cabre, to practice together. Deegan and Cabre picked up their karts from GoPro Track House and learned about the new features. Deegan was impressed by the upgrades of a bigger radiator, extra parts and Bluetooth dashes for tracking performance.
Deegan also mentioned that the new karts will need to be customized with new wraps and adjusted to balance their weights.
“We need to get some weight on mine so that we're more even coz it's same everything on the cart it's identical. But Chase is probably 40 pounds heavier than me, so we definitely put some weight on my car so we can even it up and I'm just not like pulling away from corners,” Deegan explained. (03:10).

Hailie Deegan not joining Haas in 2025
Ford Performance driver, Hailie Deegan, drove the No. 15 Ford Mustang for AM Racing this year. However, the 23-year-old struggled with no wins and AM Racing replaced her with two-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano for the Chicago street race. Her exit from the team was officially announced on July 8.
After her departure, there was speculation about Deegan joining HFT for the 2025 Xfinity Series. However, HFT recently announced its Xfinity driver lineup for 2025. Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer will join the organization. With Tony Stewart stepping down and Stewart-Haas Racing downsizing, Gene Haas plans to keep one Cup Series charter and continue with two Xfinity cars. Cole Custer will drive for Haas in the Cup Series next season.
Therefore, earlier speculations about Hailie Deegan joining Haas have been confirmed as false. Team President Joe Custer had previously shown interest in Deegan, but she will not be part of the team.
