After retiring from Cup Series in 2023, NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick returned to the racetrack in the CARS Tour series. However, the two-time Xfinity and one-time Cup Series champion has ruled out further appearances behind the wheel anytime soon.

With a racing career of over 30 years, Harvick is one of the most popular names in the NASCAR world. The California-based driver made his debut in the Cup Series in 2001. He came in as a replacement for the late Dale Earnhardt Sr after the latter's fateful accident at Daytona. After driving in 800 races, Harvick decided to step down from his full-time role in 2023.

Apart from his engagement in the Cup Series, the 48-year-old also owns Kevin Harvick Incorporated: a racing team in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series. Harvick, along with Trackhouse Racing, DEJ Management, and Jeff Burton Autosports, purchased the zMAX CARS Tour series last year.

With Josh Berry on vacation, Harvick took the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of a race car at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. The veteran racer finished in 11th place.

During a post-race interaction, Frontstretch's NASCAR correspondent Chase Folsom asked Harvick about the result.

"I got knocked out of the way with like 15 laps to go, running 8th or 9th there. That was about all we had, probably 8th or 9th place car. So we've got to get our cars a little bit better, but I had a good time. I wouldn't blame it all on the car. I think some of it is probably the driver being a little rusty. I had a good time," Kevin Harvick replied (0:08 onwards).

Before signing off, Folsom inquired about when they expect to see the former Cup Series champion back in the car store.

"Not this year." Harvick answered, with a wide grin (1:13 onwards).

"Looking to have some fun" - Kevin Harvick was eager to get behind the wheel at CARS Tour's North Wilkesboro race

Months after his retirement from the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023, Kevin Harvick seemed quite eager to drive a race car again. Ahead of the CAR Tour series race at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, the former Xfinity series champion spoke about how he felt behind the wheel.

FloRacing's NASCAR content creator Rob Blount asked Harvick about his learnings from the test runs with the car.

"I learned that I'm slow. That's what I learned the most," the Californian racer replied (0:18 onwards).

Here's a look at the video posted on X by FloRacing, captioned:

"I'm looking forward to tonight and learning and I've been able to be around the cars a lot. Since I got done with my yearly job at Fox. I've been able to be a part of the teams and being a lot of the races and looking to have some fun," he further added (0:46 onwards).
