As NASCAR is set to resume after the Summer Olympics break, Carson Hocevar is gearing up for the Super Late Model race at the Berlin Raceway. The Cup Series rookie, with 32 rivals, will battle for the $40,000 prize money at NASCAR's Regional event.

After running his final full-time Truck Series season with Niece Motorsports last year, Hocevar joined Spire Motorsports to battle in the Cup Series. However, unlike his dominant portrayal during his rookie Truck season, where he posted three top-5s, and five top-10s, and finished the season in tenth place, the #77 Chevy driver hasn't been able to showcase similar performance at the Cup level. He has claimed two top-10s from 22 races and has succumbed to a solitary DNF at the season-opener Daytona 500.

Nonetheless, Hocevar has portrayed his racing prowess at the Super Late Models in NASCAR's Regional event hosted by the Berlin Speedway. Even though Bubba Pollard won the Money in the Bank 150 in June, Hocevar grabbed the limelight by dominating 69 laps of the 150-lap race.

Moreover, the Zeigler Racing driver has bagged the 2017 Super Late Models championship at his home track and is well-versed in taming his high-octane ride on the 7/16-mile oval.

After getting "bored" from the mid-season break, Carson Hocevar is all set to fight for the total prize purse of $125,000 from which the winner will take home a handsome share of $40,000. Compared to last year, the prize has been increased by $10,000 as Tekton Tools will extend their partnership with the Speedway as the title sponsor.

While the Michigan native will eye to add the Battle of Berlin trophy to his arsenal of Super Late Model victories, Bubba Pollard will aim to defend his 2023 win.

A look into Carson Hocevar's Super Late Model showdown schedule in Michigan

On Wednesday, August 7, the Berlin Raceway will open its gates for the drivers and the Pit Pass holders from 9.30 AM onwards. An hour after the Super Late Model drivers and their respective spotters meet, the general admission gates will allow entry from 1 PM.

At 5.30 PM, the qualifying run will commence, and top Super Late Model drivers such as Erik Jones, Carson Hocevar, and Bubba Pollard, among others, will try to set the stage. The top 22 drivers will automatically secure their spot in the main 250-lap event, while the remaining cars will battle in the Last Chance Race spanning 40 laps. Further, the leading four will advance to the main race scheduled immediately after the 40-lap Sportsman feature showdown.

While Kyle Busch holds the record of three consecutive wins at the Battle of Berlin from 2010, Jones will enter as the winningest active driver on the Berlin Speedway, with two wins from 2015 and 2016. Meanwhile, Carson Hocevar will look forward to adding his maiden Battle of Berlin triumph.
