William Byron is optimistic about advancing to the Championship 4
Hendrick Motorsports has three drivers vying for the final two spots in the Championship 4. William Byron holds the final transfer spot, sitting seven points above his teammate Kyle Larson, while Chase Elliott faces a must-win situation as he is 43 points below the cutline.
The three HMS drivers will likely be fighting for the final spot as Christopher Bell is in a comfortable lead, boasting a 29-point advantage to the cutline. Byron is not concerned about the points situation, as he aiming to win at Martinsville, having won the spring race earlier this season.
"Absolutely, We did it in the spring, so we should be able to," he was quoted as saying by RACER.com.
Byron is a two-time winner at Martinsville, with four top-five finishes in his last seven starts at the track. However, his playoff rivals also have a good track record at the Paperclip Oval, setting the stage for an intense cut-off race.
The Xfinity 500 is scheduled for this Sunday, November 3, at 2:00 PM ET. Catch the action live on NBC, MRN, and SiriusXM.
