After a disappointing season in 2023, Chase Elliott has bounced back stronger than ever in 2024. The Hendrick Motorsports driver entered the current season coming off of the worst season of his Cup career with notably a long winless streak.

However, Elliott not only ended his winless streak at Texas earlier this season but he has also registered new personal bests. This season, Chase Elliott has an average finish of 9.1, which is his best in the Cup Series while also making him the only driver with that stat in single digits.

But after his recent 18th-place finish at New Hampshire, Chase Elliott registered a singular achievement in the modern era of NASCAR's top flight. This achievement was pointed out by Trey Ryan.

"Chase Elliott is the first driver in 33 years to start a NASCAR Cup Series season with 18 straight top 20 finishes (Ricky Rudd - 1991) He’s only the 4th driver to do it in the entirety of the Modern Era (1972 - Present)," Ryan posted on his X handle.

So far this season, all of Elliott's finishes have come inside the top 20 bracket, with six of those finishes coming inside the top 5, and two inside the top 10, along with that Texas win. This run of results has propelled him to the top of the standings where he's in contention to win the regular season championship.

Kyle Petty wasn't having the Chase Elliott top 20 statistic while the #9 driver remains happy with his season so far

After the race at Iowa where Elliott's top 20 statistic was mentioned during broadcast, former driver Kyle Petty refused to take the stat seriously. He claimed it was a 'made up' statistic that didn't paint an accurate picture.

"When you get upfront and lead those laps and at least see victory lane, you’re in the conversations. Right now he’s in the conversation of Miss Congeniality. He’s the most consistent guy out there right now," Petty said.

But as for how Chase Elliott feels about his season so far, the #9 driver claimed he's in 'a good spot' after getting the pole at New Hampshire. He also mentioned that he's super happy with the #9 team's current position and where things stand.

Elliott claimed that going forward, the team just have to 'keep working down those paths' and get a few more wins than they have right now.
