Chase Briscoe has officially been announced as the driver for Joe Gibbs Racing and he will pilot the #19 Toyota Camry XSE for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. However, this news didn't come as a surprise, as JGR driver Christopher Bell accidentally declared Briscoe as his teammate earlier this week.

Stewart-Haas Racing driver Briscoe is set to replace the current #19 driver, Martin Truex Jr., as the veteran driver recently announced his decision to retire after the end of the current season. Additionally, the #19 team's current sponsor, Bass Pro Shops, and the crew chief, James Small, will continue to be a part of the #19 Toyota, fielding Briscoe for the next season.

Joe Gibbs Racing officially announced the decion via apost on X (formerly Twitter):

"It's official. @ChaseBriscoe_14 is joining the JGR family. Chase will drive the No. 19 @BassProShops. Toyota Camry starting in 2025! #NASCAR #TeamToyota"

NASCAR fans were quick to react to the news of #14 Briscoe joining JGR.

A fan jokingly mentioned that Hendrick's driver, Chase Elliott has been deprived of an opportunity. Recently, in a media interaction, Christopher Bell accidentally revealed the news. A seemingly innocent mention of "Chase" hinted at the driver change for the #19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in 2025. Hence, fans thought that one of Briscoe and Elliott would make the lineup.

"Chase Elliott robbed!!!" a fan said.
"Oh, that 'Chase'," another user added.

Meanwhile, a couple of fans suggested that Noah Gragson would have been a better choice.

"Noah (Gragson)sis way better," a user said.
"Should be Noah(Gragson)." a second user said.

Another fan fan thanked #20 Christopher Bell for leaking the news a few days back.

"Thanks a lot Christopher Bell for the leak 4 days ago," a NASCAR fan said.

Another fan congratulated SHR driver Chase Briscoe on finally securing a ride, following the uncertainty caused by Stewart-Haas Racing's announcement to sell their charters after the 2024 Cup Series season.

"Congratulations Chase! Let’s finish this year out Strong and then grab next year by the Horns!!!," a fan wrote.

"JGR is the place to be if you want to go win" - Briscoe on his move to Joe Gibbs Racing

Chase Briscoe currently competes for Stewart-Haas Racing, piloting the #14 Ford. Briscoe has been competing for SHR for the entirety of his career in the Cup Series and was the champion of the 2016 ARCA Racing Series.

Briscoe has shared his thoughts on joining the JGR shed alongside Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, and Ty Gibbs. Here's what the 29-year-old said:

"I’m excited for this opportunity with Joe Gibbs Racing and Bass Pro Shops. From a competition standpoint, JGR is the place to be if you want to go win races week in and week out and to race for the championship every year. I am blessed that Johnny Morris and Bass Pro are on board to help us carry on the legacy of the 19 car."
"For me personally, being an avid outdoorsman, there’s a lot of pride in now being a part of the Bass Pro brand and I’m extremely grateful for this partnership. Getting to meet Johnny, I feel like I share a lot of the same values as him and Coach, and I’m ready to get to work and prove that they have made a great choice putting me in this car," Briscoe added.

Recently, #14 Briscoe finished second at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, behind his future JGR teammate #20 Bell. After 18 Cup Series races, Briscoe stands at P16 in the overall points standings. He has two top-fives and six top-ten finishes.
