Chase Elliott recently shed light on the mode of operation inside Hendrick Motorsports. The HMS driver revealed that the tussles for the championship with teammates Kyle Larson and Williams Byron do not change HMS' priority as to each driver.
Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, William Byron and Alex Bowman form the four-man squad in Jeff Gordon and Rick Hendrick's Cup Series team. Among them, Elliott and Larson often battle it out amongst themselves, being superior in the Series this year than the other two.
Larson and Elliott are leading the 2024 championship with identical points. Despite this, Hendrick Motorsports' mode of operation remains the same and is not influenced by any pressure from the two drivers' position on the standings, as per Elliott (via CupScene.com):
“Yeah, over the course of my time being there [at HMS], nothing has ever changed, whether we’re racing – Kyle (Larson) and I have raced for a championship for a couple of times, I guess now, at Phoenix (Raceway)," Elliott said. [07:45]
"I can say with a lot of confidence that our meetings have not ever changed in how everyone talks; the things that are discussed, information that’s uploaded into our internal servers, as far as setups and things of that nature," he added.
Hendrick Motorsports has won a record 14 Cup Series Drivers' Championships in NASCAR history. The most recent one came in 2021, thanks to a brilliant season by Kyle Larson. Chase Elliott won the Championship the year before in 2020.

The 2023 season was far from brilliant for Chase Elliott. The HMS driver failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time in his Cup Series career. Now that the time has come for redemption in 2024, he revealed that he is in a good spot for the rest of the season.
Speaking about this, Elliott revealed that Hendrick Motorsports has been in a good spot all year, and he is "really happy with everything." With just one win in his tally, though, Elliott stated that he would like to have a couple more wins in the races to come (via CupScene.com):
"I feel like I’m in a good spot with what I’m looking for in the car. I feel like Alan (Gustafson) is in a good place with knowing how to give me some of those things. I think that for us, we’ve just got to continue to keep working down those paths."
After an eventful race at North Hampshire, NASCAR moves to Music City up next for the Ally 400. The race at Nashville Superspeedway is set to take place on June 30, 2024.
