Chase Elliott has given a passive-aggressive reply on his late-race wreck with Joey Logano. The Hendrick Motorsports driver suffered a brutal setback and paid the price for an issue in Team Penske's #22 Ford's right front.

The #9 Chevy driver was the polesitter in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway run but lost the domination on Lap 42. Joe Gibbs Racing's Christopher Bell overtook the former, securing the Stage 1 win, and went on to clinch his third Cup Series triumph this season.

Joey Logano started his run from sixth place on the grid but finished both stages in podium places- the runner-up spot in Stage 1 and third in the second stage. Shortly after Stage 2 concluded with Denny Hamlin as the winner, the race went into a restart and was green-flagged on Lap 194. At that time, Chase Elliott was 11th while Logano was right next to him in 12th.

As the #9 Chevy and the #22 Ford entered the first corner, the latter's right front got locked up, which didn't let Logano maneuver properly through the turn. As a result, he rammed into Elliott and slashed his odds of churning a promising outcome. Chase Elliott sustained some damages on his high-octane ride and ended his run in 18th place, while Joey Logano settled 32nd.

NASCAR posted a video of the duo's wreck, following which the HMS driver replied cryptically. He used an inverted smile emoji outlining his frustration over the mishap in a sarcastic manner.

Kyle Larson dethrones Chase Elliott as the regular season leader despite having the same points

Despite falling victim to the wreck, Chase Elliott managed to bring home 29 regular season points. Meanwhile, his teammate Kyle Larson collected 37 points. Before the USA Today 301 race was flagged off, the #9 Chevy driver led the regular season rankings by eight points over the #5 Chevy driver.

However, after the Loudon debacle, the teammates have equal points in their arsenal at 620. Nonetheless, Larson has re-emerged as the leaderboard topper. The reason is the Californian's supremacy over the Georgian in several key aspects.

Kyle Larson has competed in 17 races compared to Chase Elliott's 18 as the former missed the Coca-Cola 600 despite making it to Charlotte Motor Speedway during the red flag. Still, Larson has three wins compared to Elliott's solitary win and has eight top-5s over the teammates' seven.

Though the #5 Chevy driver has two DNFs while the #9 Chevy driver has zero, the former has dominated 755 laps over the latter's 178. Moreover, Larson has raked in eight stage wins, which, compared to Elliott's single-stage win would've been a crucial factor in placing the 2021 Cup Series champion at the top of the leaderboard.
