NASCAR driver Noah Gragson shared an image featuring fellow driver Todd Gilliland and himself swapping helmets as they prepare to go racing for Front Row Motorsports this year.
Gragson, who was previously with Stewart-Haas Racing, posted the photo on Instagram on Sunday with a note about their relationship, along with a mention to an incident from their history racing together.
The 26-year-old shared the photo showing off the two drivers with their helmets, adding the caption:
"Been through a lot of ups and downs with this guy! Pumped to trade helmets with @toddgilliland_ now that we're teammates again, cheers to the helmet swap, also ... sorry about Canada"
Noah Gragson and Todd Gilliland have been teammates previously, driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR truck series.
Gragson also apologised for something that happened in Canada, in his caption, possibly referring to the incident in 2018 during the Camping World Truck Series race in August. He had turned into Gilliand's truck in a fight for the lead at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, causing both to crash out in the final turn. The two drivers have also competed against each other in the ARCA Menards Series, as well as in late model racing.
Speaking about his new teammate, Gragson said (via NASCAR.com):
"I think Todd’s done an unbelievable job throughout his career and building his brand and the driver that he’s become. So I think we can work together really well next year. We’re good buddies, which helps. We know each other. We’ve been teammates before. I think it’ll be a very easy transition."
Gilliland has been with FRM since 2022, driving their #38 car. He will be joined by Noah Gragson this year and will be driving the #4 car, with Drew Blickensderfer staying on as his crew chief.
Noah Gragson shares story featuring another driver-friend
The upcoming #4 driver took to Instagram to share a solo picture of his other driver friend, 18-year-old Connor Zilisch, with whom he has a close relationship. The new Front Row Motorsports driver took to his story to post a fun picture of Zilisch.
Gragson shared a photo of the Trackhouse Racing development driver in a short GoDaddy-sponsored jumpsuit:
Zilisch had five starts in the Xfinity Series this past season, including a race-winning debut at the Watkins Glen.
Noah Gragson, meanwhile, completed his 2024 season in the Cup Series with one top-5 and seven top-10 finishes in his first and final year with Stewart-Haas Racing.
