2025 is going to be a busy year for Christopher Bell. Just last month, he dropped a hint about his return to dirt racing and now, reports suggest that he will be racing for Kreitz Racing's No. 69K team at the 2025 DIRTcar Nationals.
The event sanctioned by the World of Outlaws will be held at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park on February 5. Notably, this race is going to be Bell’s first in a 410 winged sprint car since June 2022. Besides this, Bell will compete in Kyle Larson’s High Limit Racing season opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 13.
“Watching the 69K run over the years has been super impressive. Don and the Kreitz team are top notch and I’m excited to see what it’s like to drive," Christopher Bell said during an exclusive interview with FloRacing. "I’ve been out of Sprint Car racing for a while, so I’m looking forward to getting my feet wet and see how comfortable I am in my return.”
Don Kreitz Jr., owner of Kreitz Racing, said that if everything goes well, Bell and the 69K team will run practice laps on February 4 and drive in the race on February 6 as well.
“It’s amazing. It’s hard to believe that it’s really going to happen,” Kreitz said of Christopher Bell racing for his team. "Naturally he’s one of the top drivers in the world as far as being able to run different stuff and run good in everything. He's really versatile and seems he was raised right, very polite."
Bell currently drives the No. 20 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing, a leading team competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. He has nine wins to his name at the Cup level with his most recent victory coming at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in June. Bell also won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship in 2017.
Christopher Bell ready to take his dirt schedule week by week
Other than the two mentioned earlier, there aren’t any races on Christopher Bell’s schedule. Notably, the 2025 season is abundant in dirt events like the 45th Dirt Track World Championship, the 35th annual Blue-Gray 100 at Cherokee Speedway, and not to mention, the Knoxville Late Model Nationals.
Bell’s dirt rival and fellow NASCAR contender Kyle Larson is already a three-time winner in the Knoxville Nationals. So what is stopping Bell from adding the Knoxville Nationals or perhaps even the Gateway Dirt Nationals to his schedule?
“One thing that I typically do when it comes to dirt racing is that I don’t really like to make a schedule,” Christopher Bell explained during a recent interview (via Peter Stratta). “I really just kind of go week by week and if my week turns out to be quiet, I’ll look for opportunities to go race. “ (0:14)
“It is nice to know that it is in my hands, you know, our competition staffs’ hands. I’m excited about it and certainly looking forward to reconnecting with my dirt fans,” he added. (0:46)
Meanwhile, Bell’s NASCAR duties resume on February 2 with the season-opening exhibition battle at Bowman Gray Stadium. Fans can watch Bell in action from 8 pm ET onwards only on FOX. MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will provide radio updates on the 200-lap event.
