Ahead of Clint Bowyer's NASCAR comeback, his son, Cash Bowyer, playfully ribbed him. Chatting with a Fox reporter, the youngster, who was present to watch his father race in the Ally 400 Truck race at Nashville, mentioned that he was in competition with his father this season and humorously pointed out that he was the one who has actually won a race in 2024.

Cash Bowyer celebrated his first victory in a go-kart race, a milestone proudly shared by his dad on Instagram. Meanwhile, Clint Bowyer, who stepped away from full-time racing after the 2020 season, made a return to truck racing, a scene he hasn’t graced since 2016. During his last truck race, he drove the #24 Truck for GMS Racing in the Heart of America 200 at Kansas, securing a commendable P5 finish.

Before the Ally 400 qualifying, Fox reporter Michael Waltrip caught up with Cash Bowyer to chat about his burgeoning racing career and whether he was enjoying himself. Young Cash couldn't resist the opportunity to tease his dad, Clint Bowyer, about his current race season. With a cheeky grin and pointing at his father, Cash quipped:

"Yeah, I'm having fun. I'm actually the only one that's won this season so far competing with this guy [pointing at his father]."

Clint Bowyer was not happy with the major stack-up on the restart at Nashville

Clint Bowyer made a comeback to the NASCAR Truck Series, starting P11 from the pole in the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville and finishing a top-ten [P9] finish in Stage 1. However, the race took a turn during Stage 2.

On lap 61 there was an incident with Chase Purdy. As the field's pace fluctuated, Purdy adjusted his position, triggering a chain reaction. Unaware of the slowdown, Bowyer by mistake rear-ended Purdy’s #77 Chevrolet Silverado.

The collision set off further chaos as Conner Jones crashed into the back of Clint Bowyer's truck, and multiple vehicles jostled for space in the outer lane. Amidst the turmoil, Dawson Cram, substituting for Thad Moffitt in the #46 Faction46 truck, was clipped by Lawless Alan, sending him spinning across the infield grass.

After the crash, frustration boiled over for Bowyer, who couldn't help but exclaim over the radio sounding defeated:

"God damnit! I’d say we’re done. Motherf***er! What happened? The f***er was jimmy-jacking the start bad,” Clint Bowyer said in a burst of anger.

Despite the damage to the front of his truck, Bowyer and his #7 team managed to cobble together enough tape and repairs to get him back in the race. But then after a not-so-great second stage where he finished P24, Bowyer made a comeback in Stage 3. On lap 141 after narrowly avoiding a spin involving Layne Riggs and crossed the finish line in 17th place.
