The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season had been a rollercoaster for Corey LaJoie both on the track and off the track, as he couldn’t secure a win and also lost his Cup ride at Spire Motorsports, resulting in a swap with Justin Haley at Rick Ware Racing. The swap to RWR for the final seven races this year has left his NASCAR future uncertain.
In the latest episode of his own “Stacking Pennies” podcast, Corey LaJoie reflected on his career and life trajectory, hinting at the wide range of opportunities he has both as a driver and in non-driving roles.
Discussing about the opportunities he has in NASCAR for the 2025 season, LaJoie said:
“I have so many cool opportunities behind the wheel but also not behind the wheel to take into consideration of the next chapter of life is.”
Corey LaJoie had a struggling 2024 season as he managed to score only on top-five and three top-10 finishes in 36 races. It was a good start for the North Carolina native to his 2024 campaign, with a career-best finish of fourth place at the season-opener Daytona 500, but after that, he continuously found struggling throughout the season.
The 33-year-old driver ended the season in 33rd place in the Cup Series championship standings, the worst of his career.

Before the NASCAR Cup Series season-finale race at Phoenix Raceway, a NASCAR veteran shared his thoughts on the tough 2024 season on social video through a video message. In an Instagram video, he shed light about how God being good and learning from this season.
In an Instagram video, LaJoie said:
“Through the funk, through the storm, through the negative self-talk that you work through, and you lean in and you try to figure it all out, I've learned that God's closer to me in the valley than he ever was when I was at the mountain top.”
“So I think there's some sweet people need that encouragement today that you got to fight, you got to claw, and you got to get out of it, but God's with you every step of the way, and he's closer to you in the valley than he is on the mountaintop."
With the growing competition in the NASCAR Cup Series, it will be interesting to see where LaJoie’s future lies in the sport. Over nine years of career at Cup level, he has yet to secure his first NASCAR win.
