Corey LaJoie recently collaborated with his Cup race sponsor, Johnny Fly, to promote their signature reflective wooden sunglasses. Despite Spire Motorsports revealing that LaJoie will not return to their lineup next year, he continues to actively advertise his sponsors' products. However, it remains uncertain whether his sponsors will follow him as he seeks a new team.

LaJoie has been a fixture in NASCAR for nearly a decade, securing nine top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series, along with two in the Xfinity Series and one in the Craftsman Truck Series. Last season, he mainly drove for Spire Motorsports, managing two top-5s and one top-10 finish. Additionally, he stepped in for Chase Elliott at Hendrick Motorsports for the Gateway race, finishing 21st.

Corey LaJoie has already finished a top-5 finish this season at the Daytona 500. However, just last week, Spire Motorsports announced that LaJoie will part ways with the team after the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.

During his four-year time with Spire, Corey LaJoie accumulated four top-five finishes, including three fourth-place finishes at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, and Daytona International Speedway. His portfolio of major sponsors features names like Chili’s, Celsius, Schluter Systems, HMS Motorsport, and Johnny Fly, among others.

But despite everything, continuing his promotional duties, Corey LaJoie recently posted Johnny Fly’s "2 Cents" reflective wooden shades on his official X account. He shared a video demonstrating the sleek sunglasses, highlighting their unique design. The caption of the post read:

"Block out the haters with the limited edition ‘2 Cents’ from @JohnnyFlyCo Head to http://coreylajoieracing.com and check them out."

It’s been a bustling Silly Season for Spire Motorsports as the team recently announced big changes for the upcoming season. Michael McDowell is set to take the helm of the #71 Chevrolet and crew chief Rodney Childers will lead the #7 team.

Corey LaJoie reacts to his unexpected exit from Spire Motorsports

Reflecting on his impending departure after the 2024 season on the latest episode of "Stacking Pennies," Corey LaJoie shared insights into his time with the team and his thoughts on the future. He expressed a range of emotions about the news via NASCAR:

"I had some realizations. Everywhere that I’ve been has always been a one-year deal, so this position that I find myself in currently isn’t uncomfortable. It’s not someplace I’ve never been before. You go through all the emotions, mad, sad … I think where I’m at currently a week removed is that I’m super appreciative."
"Super appreciative of Jeff [Dickerson, team co-owner] and T.J. [Puchyr, co-owner] and for Spire giving me the opportunity, for believing in me from the jump when we were trying to whiteboard this thing and what we’ve grown it to has been pretty cool," he continued.

As the 2024 regular season winds down with only four races left, and Corey LaJoie sitting 28th in the points standings, he's keeping an open mind about the future. He's ready for new opportunities and is determined to end this season strong, focusing on making the most out of his remaining time with Spire Motorsports.
