Two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently suggested that Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain should have a throwback paint scheme similar to that of a former NASCAR Busch Series driver. Junior shared the idea with stock car racing fans on his X account.

Anheuser-Busch has a long history in NASCAR, sponsoring numerous drivers over the years. Currently, the beer company is sponsoring Chastain's #1 Chevy Camaro ZL1 since the last season. Prior to this, Anheuser-Busch was a long-time sponsor of NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick until his retirement at the end of the 2023 season.

The Melon Man has signed a deal with JR Motorsports to compete in selected races in the Xfinity Series in the 2025 season, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn't help but notice a throwback livery for Chastain. Junior recently stumbled upon Pete Silva's birthday post and asked the Trackhouse Racing driver to opt for the same livery.

Silva was the first English driver to compete in the NASCAR Late Model series and had the same sponsor and number as Ross Chastain's current ride. Reflecting upon the same, Dale Earnhardt Jr. reshared the post and wrote:

"The next @RossChastain throwback please."

Every year the Southern 500 race at Darlington Raceway features throwback liveries, and the teams plan their scheme ahead of the race. Now it'll be intriguing to see Ross Chastain's livery at the race scheduled on September 1, 2025. Dale Jr. also expressed his thoughts about the increased count of cars at the Daytona 500 race.

“Things are trending in a good direction“: Dale Earnhardt Jr. opens up about the upcoming Daytona 500 race

Former Hendrick Motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently expressed his views on the increased number of open car entries for the upcoming Daytona 500 race. He believes the increased entry for the race is a good sign and should keep the race engaging.

Earnhardt Jr. is a retired professional driver who competed in the Cup Series. He secured 26 wins, 260 top tens, and 15 pole positions in his 19-year stint in the series.

Additionally, the 50-year-old former driver also hosts a podcast, 'The Dale Jr. Download,' under Dirty Mo Media productions, where he talks about the ins and outs of NASCAR.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was questioned whether the higher car count at the Daytona 500 was a good decision for the sport.

"Good sign of health... but also the economics of it is the car count. If you're going to start 30 cars and 40 are there, then that's great. If you're going to start 30 cars and only 28 show up, it's concerning," stated Junior. [00:11] (via Dale Jr. Download)

The Kannapolis native highlighted how nearly 40 cars failed to qualify for the Daytona 500 race around the 70s. He concluded:

"Going into this 500 with as many open cars as we have I think it says things are trending in a good direction. It does give us that interest during the Duels." [0:58]

Only 40 cars, consisting of 36 charter cars and four open teams, will compete in the Daytona 500 scheduled on February 16, 2025. While the duel is on February 3, 2025.
