Dale Earhardt Jr. recently shared his hunting experience and decision to ditch his family's plan of attending the Taylor Swift concert in Indianapolis. Moreover, the NASCAR Hall of Famer reminisced his hunting memories with his late father, Dale Earnhardt.

Last weekend, 14-time Grammy award winner Swift performed at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as part of her Eras Tour. Dale Jr's wife, Amy, and his daughters attended the famed popstar's music concert, while the 50-year-old hunted "in the middle of the United States."

In a recent episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Amy Earnhardt shared her overwhelming reaction to Swift's concert, saying:

"I don't know how we'll top Taylor Swift."

To this, the co-host asked Dale Jr. about his absence from the concert which led the latter to share his experience of hunting. Junior said:

"I went hunting... I saw a nice buck the first night. And I had a decoy out in the field. And he was coming downwind of the decoy to see if that thing was real. And when he realized it wasn't, he got out of there. So I didn't really get a chance. But and I was questioning whether it was a deer I wanted. But I had a blast, man. Sitting in a deer stand in the middle of the United States watching the real world move. You can't understand how fun and enjoyable that it is to actually get in there and try it. And it is so, so nice."

Furthermore, the JR Motorsport co-owner spoke about how he got nostalgic while hunting and shared a memory from his hunting experience with Earnhardt Sr.

"I think about my dad a lot, honestly, a lot when I'm deer hunting. Because he loved hunting. And I used to want to go hunting with him all the time. When I was little and I'd go hunting with dad, he had chain up deer stands. And basically a chain up deer stand is a little platform, a little cushion. And that's it. And I'd lay down on that platform. And like five, six years old. And he'd just be hunting. And I'd just be sitting there," he added.

The two-time Daytona 500 winner also revealed his growing fondness for hunting over the past six to seven years.

"That's important to me": Dale Earnhardt Jr. once shared his feelings about frequently talking about his father

NASCAR driver turned analyst Dale Earnhardt Jr. once shared his thoughts about himself and other guests regularly reminiscing about his father

In a 2023 episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, the Kannapolis native was unapologetic for discussing Earnhardt Sr.'s stories and emphasized the importance of it in his life, saying:

"I'm not gonna apologize for all of the Dale Earnhardt conversations that we have. I'm not going to apologize for "Becoming Earnhardt" or whatever we do in the future with that or all the guests that we have come in here that talk about dad. That's important to me. I get a ton from it. I think our listeners enjoy it. I know that we go heavy on the Earnhardt stuff. I know we do. Sometimes, it's heavy for me. Sometimes it's just a little bit too much for me."
