JR Motorsports owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. has joined hands again with Bass Pro Shops as their sponsors for the 2025 Xfinity Series season, funding two rookie drivers in different leagues. Bass Pro Shops and the Earnhardt family have a rich history that goes back to the early days of NASCAR, and Earnhardt Jr. renewed the contract on October 1, 2024.
After the renewal of the sponsorship, JR Motorsports will be funding Carson Kvapil and Wyatt Miller for their future ventures with the team. Earnhardt Jr. aims to expand their presence in various racing events. Kvapil will be moving to the Xfinity Series as a full-time driver, while Miller will be part of the 600cc Micro Sprint Series to hone his skills.
The founder of Bass Pro Shops was thrilled about their tie-up with JRM for the 2025 seasons and said:
"We're honored to expand our alliance with our long-time friends Dale Jr., his sister Kelley, her son Wyatt, and the entire family over at JR Motorsports. The Earnhardt's have been true ambassadors to all who support conservation and the great outdoors for many years, and we are excited to celebrate that through this partnership."
Kelley Earnhardt Miller, the CEO of Junior Motorsports, highlighted that working with Bass Pro Shops is "incredibly special" and "means a lot" to the Earnhardt family. Bass Pro Shops will be the primary sponsors of Carson Kvapil's #1 Chevy for 23 races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, 20 races for Wyatt Miller in the 600cc Micro Sprint Car, and 20 more races in the late model racing under the JRM banner.
One call from Dale Earnhardt Jr. that shaped Carson Kvapil's future in NASCAR
Carson Kvapil has earned a spot in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity lineup by impressing Dale Earnhardt Jr. with his phenomenal performance in the late model stock car racing. In 2020, Kvapil won his first Late Model title at the Carolina Pro Late Model Series Championship.
However, this was just the beginning of JRM's new driver career. He then raced in the 2021 CARS Super Late Model Tour Championship, and 2021 became a turning point in his life. Carson Kvapil got a call from Earnhardt Jr. to race in Late Model Stock in a CARS Tour event at South Carolina’s Florence Motor Speedway as Josh Berry's replacement.
Kvapil led a total of 100 laps that day and secured a place in the top five. This impressed Dale Earnhardt Jr., and the 21-year-old became a full-time driver for JRM in Late Model Stock in 2022. He then won four CARS Late Model Stock Tour events and the series championship along with five more wins in another CARS Tour.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was satisfied by Kvapil's performance in the late-model stock car racing and wanted to give him more opportunities. As a part of a contract renewal with Bass Pro Shops, he announced the 21-year-old as a full-time Xfinity driver for the 2025 season.
