Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s wife Amy recently shared a snap out of the window of an airplane. Where she was going is unclear, but her Instagram stories suggest it was somewhere by the sea.

An interior designer by profession, Amy Earnhardt owns a premium, handcrafted vodka company named High Rock Vodka alongside Dale Jr. She has been married to the NASCAR vet for eight years now and resides with her husband and two beautiful daughters, Isla and Nicole, in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Amy captioned her story, saying,

She also shared a picture of herself with Dale Jr., wearing a hat that read “The Longboard Sullivan’s Island, SC”. One could therefore assume that the couple visited the famous seafood restaurant as a quick escape from their busy schedules.

Although now retired from full-time racing, Dale Earnhardt Jr. remains an important figure in the sport as the co-owner of JR Motorsports and future commentator for TNT Sports and Amazon Prime’s NASCAR Cup Series coverage in 2025. Ex-crew chief Steve Letarte and renowned sports announcer Adam Alexander will join him.

During his career as a NASCAR driver, Dale Jr. won 26 races, 17 of which were with the now-defunct Dale Earnhardt Inc., and the rest with Hendrick Motorsports.

Earnhardt Jr. retired in 2017 but never quit racing. The NASCAR Hall of Famer has been running at least one national-level race every year since then. Most recently, he announced a break from doing NASCAR-sanctioned races and opted for a limited, late-model racing schedule through 2025.

“Missed the whole thing”- Amy Earnhardt lets her feelings known following Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2007 repeat

On Saturday, November 23, Dale Earnhardt Jr. wheeled his iconic No. 8 Budweiser Chevy Camaro for the first time since 2007. That is also when he left DEI and joined Hendrick Motorsports as the driver of the No. 88.

In a race alongside NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Carson Kvapil, ARCA star Brendan Queen, and Cup Series regular Josh Berry, Dale Jr. showcased immense racing prowess even at 50. Unfortunately, a mechanical failure ended his day early, forcing him to settle for a disappointing P28 finish.

Amy was at Florence Motor Speedway that night but missed watching her husband pilot the No. 8 machine. She fell asleep putting her daughters to bed.

Later, she took to Instagram and posted,

“What a fun night! I heard the 8 was bad fast. I fell asleep putting the girls down and missed the whole thing.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently announced the date for his next race. He will run the Cook Out 225 ZMax CARS Tour race at Florence Motor Speedway on August 29, 2025. Notably, Dale Jr. is one of the co-owners of the zMAX CARS Tour, a premier late-model taxi series based in the southeast.
