Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a powerful message for renowned NASCAR journalist Jeff Gluck after the latter recently shared a post where he recalled how he once lost his job in 2010. Earnhardt Jr. The 50-year-old heaped praise on Gluck.
Gluck, who currently works with The Athletic, is one of the most renowned media personalities in NASCAR. His 12 questions with NASCAR drivers is still a popular segment for fans, and experts alike. While he might be a recognizable face now, it wasn't all flowery for Jeff Gluck.
Recalling the tough days, Gluck recently shared a post from his official X account. There he shared how he was once jobless after the NASCAR Scene was shut off in 2010, and it was exactly 15 years ago, January 5, 2010.
"NASCAR Scene shut down 15 years ago today and I got laid off. I tweeted this from the parking lot to my 3,000 followers at the time and thought my career may be over. Very grateful to still be around today and I don’t take it for granted," Gluck wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Reacting to Jeff Gluck's post, Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared a positive and powerful message with the NASCAR media man. Here's what he wrote,
"You set an excellent example of determination and dedication for others to follow."
Jeff Gluck joined journalism in 2004. Three years later, in 2007, he joined the NASCAR Scene. But in 2009, he was laid off after the company was shut off due to the Great Recession. He joined USA Today then, and after some years of working there, Gluck finally joined The Athletic in 2019.
Besides working for The Athletic and NASCAR Scene, Jeff Gluck also worked for USA Today. He is an American by birth and nationality and is currently 44 years old. Gluck was born on September 19, 1980, and completed his studies at the University of Delaware.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. sat with Jeff Gluck of The Athletic to answer 12 questions in 2023. In one of the questions, Earnhardt Jr. was asked about his unfinished or incomplete job in NASCAR.
Sharing his experience, Dale Jr. said:
"I don’t regret it, but probably going to (Joe) Gibbs (Racing). When I was looking at what I was going to do after (Dale Earnhardt Inc.), I literally was only looking at Gibbs and Hendrick (Motorsports). I’d went and met with Gibbs, we had a great meeting, and they offered me a contract to sign."
"And then I went to meet with Rick and he offered me a contract to sign. I have no regrets over how all of that played out, but you cannot help but wonder, “What would it have been like had I went the other route?” he added.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. retired from full-time racing at the end of the 2017 Cup Series season. Till his retirement, he was competing with Hendrick Motorsports, Rick Hendrick's NASCAR Cup Series team.
