Dale Earnhardt Jr. dropped some suggestions for the retiring Martin Truex Jr. ahead of his final races as a full-time driver in NASCAR. He wants the 43-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver to enjoy every moment while he is still there.

Martin Truex Jr. announced his retirement last week during the Iowa Corn 350 press conference. The #19 Toyota driver has been associated with NASCAR since 2001 and has managed to win 48 races over 13 years.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., who retired from NASCAR in 2017 due to medical issues after starting his career in 1996, recently shared some final-year advice for Martin Truex Jr. The #19 driver mostly tries to stay away from anything that catches media attention outside his work. However, according to Dale Earnhardt Jr., Truex Jr. should ease up a bit now.

"If you announce your retirement and you’re a champion like he is, a Hall of Famer like he is, people are going to want to celebrate you as you go to these racesofor the rest of the year. [...] My advice would be to let it happen, absorb it, let people celebrate you. It matters to them. They're not doing it just for you," Dale Earnhardt Jr said on his podcast The Dale Jr. Download.

Earnhardt Jr. shared that since it's his final season, the #19 might be asked to make more interview appearances, and some tracks would want to celebrate his legacy. He advised the #19 to "just go with it."

Furthermore, Dale Jr. also spoke about the Joe Gibbs Racing driver's unique character outside the racetrack.

On his podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed that Martin Truex Jr. is one of the quietest people he knows and is unsocial. There might be times when he doesn't even talk to someone for over a year, but he is extremely warm and friendly toward people when he meets them.

"Martin is not a texter; he's not going to call you up; he's not going to wish you Happy Birthday; he's not going to say Merry Christmas, nothing. You might not hear from him for an entire year." Dale Jr. said via The Dale Jr. Download. [at 17:50]

Dale Jr. also speculated that while he might race in NASCAR to some extent, he believes Martin Truex Jr. would most likely engage himself in new projects.

"I think that's guy that guy right there is going to find new projects and new things to invest his time in that will Encompass his love for the outdoors- his love for fishing and hunting. I see him putting time in more time into those things that actually generate some type of revenue for him." [at 19:17]

According to Dale Jr., Truex is a very simple-minded and basic person in NASCAR fraternity.
