Dale Earnhardt Jr. is looking forward to hopping on his podcast following his race with the returning Budweiser sponsorship. Earnhardt Jr. said he has "lots to say" about his race weekend at the Florence Motor Speedway driving the Bud No. 8 car.

Earnhardt Jr. is a 50-year-old former NASCAR Cup Series driver who recently competed in a late-model race in South Carolina. He brought back the Budweiser sponsorship since his last stint with Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) in 2007.

The 26-time Cup race winner took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts during the race weekend at Florence.

"Been writing notes in my phone all morning. Gathering my thoughts on what I want to share and discuss about our weekend with the @Budweiser car at @FmSpeedway2024," Dale Jr. wrote.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. added he would say a lot of things on his Dale Jr. Download podcast on Dirty Mo Media, a production company he founded in 2013. But before that, the driver said he would watch the NFL and root for the Washington Commanders.

"Got lots to say on our @DirtyMoMedia podcast tomorrow morning. We will talk tomorrow about empty fuel lines and midnight beers. Today... It's about hours of football on the couch. Go @Commanders!"

The South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway witnessed Earnhardt Jr. settling with a DNF due to a fuel pump issue. He started the race from P40 and moved up to P2 before coming to the pits to retire.

Young driver Treyten Lapcevich took the win and earned the $10,000 prize money.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was close to skipping the Florence late-model race

Perhaps one of the topics Dale Earnhardt Jr. will discuss on his podcast is his intention to leave the race even before it started. The Kannapolis native admitted wanting to skip the race after a disappointing qualifying effort that put him in P40.

However, one of his fellow competitors talked him out of it, saying he should get over the qualifying result and focus on the race.

Speaking with Sportsnaut's Watt Weaver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared the encounter with the driver who he hadn't met before.

“I wish I could remember the guy’s name drove that 19 car tonight when he got in the race. I think it was him anyway, the local guy that runs here. It was this fella. I'm sitting there. I made that qualifying run. I was mad as hell... He comes up to me, and he's like, 'Hey man, I want to tell you something, man. You need to keep your head up,'" Earnhardt Jr. said. [2:24]

The former Hendrick Motorsports driver told Weaver his fellow competitor adores him and listens to his podcast, saying:

“I was like, all right, he's like, 'I'm doing this because of you,' and he's like, 'I lost my dad, and listening to your podcast really helped me,' and he's like, 'Don't worry about that qualifying lap', he's like, 'You know the things you're doing are good, and you're helping people, and you're helping me.'”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is scheduled to run in the Budweiser No. 8 car in a limited series of late-model stock car races until next year.
