NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently revealed his addiction to Slap Yo Mama hot sauce on his podcast 'Dale Jr. Download.' He also spoke about his wife Amy Earnhardt's initial reaction after tasting the hot sauce to which he is addicted.
Amy Earnhardt is an interior designer. She met Earnhardt Jr. in 2009 during a business deal when she was hired to work on one of his homes. The couple later started dating, and on July 17, 2015, they got engaged. One year later, in 2016, Dale Jr. and Amy tied the knot on New Year's Eve at Richard Childress' Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina.
In the latest episode of Dale Jr.'s podcast, he highlighted that he has been losing weight to fit in his car for his next race and consuming food with the least calories. Junior further mentioned that he loves his wife Amy's soup and eats it with Slap Yo Mama hot sauce he is addicted to.
Dale Jr. highlighted that he put the Slap Yo Mama sauce on everything and has built a 'dangerous tolerance' to the hot sauce. Meanwhile, his wife still feels the spice's intensity and finds the sauce too hot to eat. He imitated Amy's reaction and said:
"I built up this really dangerous tolerance for it. When Amy tries anything, she's like, What the hell? this is ridiculous and its inedible like I can barely taste it what you talking about, I'm addicted to slap yo mama."
Dale Jr. once revealed the reason behind launching the High Rock vodka brand with his wife.
“Something that’s her own”: Dale Jr. on rediscovering High Rock vodka with his wife, Amy
Two-time Xfinity Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy Earnhardt's vodka brand, 'High Rock', gained quite a bit of popularity among fans since the project was launched in 2022. The Kannapolis native highlighted he wanted to give his wife something to make her feel invested, and the vodka brand opportunity came at the right time.
The Earnhardt family owns the High Rock vodka with Sugarlands Distilling Co. Recalling the decision to partner with the distilling company, Junior explained that he wanted something that he would pass on to his kids.
"I wanted to have ownership in it and have something long-term that I could pass on to my kids. Everything I’m focusing on now is equity things that should succeed long term," Earnhardt Jr. stated.
Other than his kids, Junior felt that his wife Amy Earnhardt also needed to own something, and High Rock vodka checked all the boxes for him. He added:
"From time to time, she was involved in a photo shoot here or a photo shoot there, or she’s been roped into partnerships I already curated, like Nationwide. While those things are great, I was thinking for a long time that I want her to have something that’s her own, that she’s part of and she feels invested in. This checks a lot of those boxes."
The "88 Proof" made the vodka special, adding a special value to the brand. The number is significant to Junior's racing career under Hendrick Motorsports, where he drove the #88 Chevy and won the Daytona 500 in 2014.
