Denny Hamlin has revealed how Dale Earnhardt Jr. pitched him the idea to start the Actions Detrimental podcast. The podcast has gained huge traction all over the internet and is very popular amongst NASCAR fans.
Actions Detrimental is a podcast hosted by NASCAR veteran Denny Hamlin, and his co-host Jared Allen. The show debuted in February of 2023 on Dirty Mo Media (owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr.), and quickly captured the attention of fans. Currently, it has 21k subscribers on YouTube and is available on multiple platforms.
Speaking about the origins of the show, Hamlin revealed that Earnhardt Jr. first pitched him the idea. After observing Hamlin's headlines in the media, Dale Jr. felt that he needed a platform to explain his thoughts and statements to the people. He told Kenny Wallace:

"I think that Dale Jr saw that I was always making headlines when it came to my media availability each and every weekend," he said (at 21:51).
"What you would see was like little snippets of these articles of maybe one quote or one line of what I said and it wasn't the full context of what I was talking about. He's like, 'man, I understand you because I know what you're saying but I don't think the fan understands you and I think you need to have a forum and a platform to explain.'"

With sports podcasts getting extremely popular, Denny Hamlin has found himself in a good position to share his opinions. He claims that NASCAR listens to the many shows that are run by former drivers or veterans like himself and Kenny Wallace, which makes a difference in the sport.
"We're a year and a half into it now and certainly it has changed the dynamic," he said (at 23:07). "I feel like certainly my voice has some weight within the sport. NASCAR listens, they listen to you [Kenny Wallace] as well, right? People don't think they do but NASCAR listens to what's on social media."
Actions Detrimental is a part of Dirty Mo Media that also hosts Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s podcast/show, called The Dale Jr. Download. Earnhardt Jr. is the host of that show, and he hosts different guests, including legendary drivers, crew chiefs, and a large number of people involved in motorsports.
