Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick hosted Nicole Shanahan in a recent episode of her Pretty Intense Podcast. Patrick delved into the rising concerns about lab-grown food and explored the motivations behind the push for such products in America.
Patrick recently hosted, Nicole Shanahan, an attorney, tech entrepreneur, and vice-presidential running mate of Robert Kennedy Jr. They discussed pressing changes needed in America, covering a range of topics including food and health, fertility, psychedelics, and artificial intelligence.
During their discussion on food and health, Danica Patrick raised concerns about the increasing presence of synthetic and genetically modified food, driven by influential figures. Shanahan cited examples of Tech-billionaire Bill Gates buying vast farmlands while Patrick cited the burning of chicken farms as evidence of unsettling changes
"I feel like I have seen things over the last couple of years with chicken farms getting burnt, just all over the place and various different things. It seems like perhaps there could be an agenda to get us on more genetically modified, synthetic-style foods." Patrick said [at 18:54].
Danica Patrick also discussed Bill Gates-backed Apeel Sciences, which provides a plant-based protection layer, to extend the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables. She argued such products detract us from consuming organically grown food.
"It seems like there might be an agenda to get us away from real food and into more processed, synthetic food." she added [at 19:56].
Nicole Shanahan, a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur, criticized companies producing synthesized food, labeling their vision as "misguided and short-sighted."
Danica Patrick comments on lab-grown food
Danica Patrick and her co-host Nicole Shanahan discussed the consequences of consuming lab-grown food, and what happens at the cellular level. They discussed how the sun's energy is transferred to the plants and human beings through the food chain.
The former NASCAR driver elaborated that lab-grown plants are cultivated under "fake light," where sunlight is simulated. She criticized the approach and labeled such food as "garbage". She said:
"So the food is the by-product of the energy of the sun. So that's what we are doing, we are siphoning off some fraction of that foods energy that got to be grown. So now you go throw some garbage into yourself that gets made at a plant, where there's no sunshine, it's just a machine. It's fake, its fake light and its just not the same." [at 24:32]
Shanahan agreed with Patrick's comments, noting that lab-grown food lacks the natural "carriers" found in real plants. She emphasized that consuming such food can gradually deplete one's energy levels.
