NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez posted a short highlight reel of his Christmas with his family, earlier today. The Trackhouse Racing driver shared the fun video featuring his family members in a variety of friendly competitions as they celebrated the holiday season together.
Suarez took to instagram to share the clip with the caption in English and Spanish:
"Feliz Navidad amigos!!! Best time of the year. I hope everyone is spending quality time with their families. Mejor época del año. Espero que todos estén pasando tiempo de calidad con sus familias"
The video featured Suarez, his siblings, his mother, and his wife, Julia Piquet.
Suarez has been in the Cup Series since 2017, joining after winning the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2016. The 32-year-old, the first Mexican driver to win a Cup Series race, has been with Trackhouse Racing since 2022. He won at the Sonoma Raceway in his first year with the Justin Marks and Pitbull-owned team.
The #99 driver scored his second win in his Cup career earlier this year in Atlanta when he beat out Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch in the third-closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history. Suarez beat Blaney by 0.003 seconds, and Busch by 0.007 seconds.
Daniel Suarez closed out his 2024 season with one win, along with four Top-5s and nine Top-10s. The Trackhouse driver led 209 laps this year and finished 12th in the standings, marking his second-best finishes.
Daniel Suarez reflected on his 2024 season with #99 team
While Daniel Suarez scored his second Cup career win and made it into the playoffs for the second time in the last three seasons, he still feels there's room to improve for the team. Speaking about how he felt the season went, he said (via NASCAR.com):
“I think if you look at the big picture, our 99 team got better from last year. …We had a couple months in the middle of the year where we were trying new stuff and were very, very bad and eventually we had to reset and try again, and I feel that hurt the numbers of the 99 team. We were okay, a top-15 team most of the year, but we have a lot of work to do as an organization.”
Daniel Suarez was unable to finish in the Top 10 places in the three points races that would've helped him qualify for the Round of 8, with finishes of 26th and 30th at Talladega and Charlotte, respectively.
The Mexican driver will be back racing for Trackhouse next year in the #99 car. He will no longer just be joined by Ross Chastain, with Trackhouse adding a third car, driven by New Zealander Shane Van Ginsbergen.
