NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suarez recently tied the knot with his longtime partner, Formula One legend Nelson Piquet's daughter Julia Piquet. In recent times, rumors have circulated about Suarez excluding 23XI driver Bubba Wallace from the guest list, but these were recently dismissed by his wife.
Suárez, the former Xfinity Series champion, is currently in his eighth season in the NASCAR Cup Series, where he drives the #99 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing. Competing full-time, Suárez has secured 18th place in the 2024 driver standings with 460 points to his credit. He has earned two top-five finishes and four top-ten finishes, in addition to a significant victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway on February 25, 2024.
Piquet and Suarez got married on the 30th of July in Brazil after being engaged for almost two years. They had been dating since 2019 and have been a fan-adored pair on the NASCAR grid.
As mentioned earlier, there have been rumors floating around about Suarez not inviting Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace to the festivities for personal reasons. However, Piquet has cleared the air on the subject. A curious fan questioned Piquet via a "Wedding Questions" prompt on Piquet's recent Instagram story. The Question was:
"Why Daniel didn't invite any of the drivers? Like Bubba Wallace"
Piquet responded to this question by saying:
"My dear friends @bubbawallace and @amandaaawallace were invited but my girl is pregnant and travelling far away on a plane isn't eay. They were with us in spirit!!!"
After their marriage, Suarez is now brother-in-law to Formula One champion Max Verstappen, whose partner Kelly Piquet is Julia Piquet's sister. Kelly Piquet was a prominent guest at the lavish wedding, but Verstappen was notably absent from the Brazilian celebrations.
Daniel Suarez clinches victory in NASCAR Brazil race, creates history
Not long after marrying the love of his life, Daniel Suarez was back on the track, competing in the NASCAR Brazil race held at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The newlywed driver showcased his talent by securing victory in two out of the three races held over the weekend. However, a penalty for an on-track incident stripped him of one of those wins
Prior to winning the NASCAR Brazil race, Suarez had already won the NASCAR Mexico season opener and the Atlanta Motor Speedway race earlier in the year. Suárez now holds the exceptional distinction of having triumphed in all three American series as well as NASCAR races in Mexico and Brazil.
Recent reports suggest that NASCAR might hold the 2026 pre-season clash in Brazil at Interlagos. NASCAR's representative in Brazil, Tom Dannemiller, recently met with Tarcísio de Freitas, the governor of São Paulo state, and Ricardo Nunes, the mayor of São Paulo, to discuss options.
