Denny Hamlin recently shared a post on his social media expressing concern over what moments to pick and discuss after an eventful Yellawood 500 playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway on his podcast. Hamlin co-hosts Dirty Mo Media's Actions Detrimental podcast with Jared Allen.

Denny Hamlin drives the #11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Over his career, Hamlin has secured 74 victories across all NASCAR divisions, with 54 of those wins in the Cup Series. Despite his consistent success and status as one of the sport's top drivers, the Virginia native is still chasing his first Cup Series championship.

The Actions Detrimental podcast was started on February 6, 2023, and has been consistently posting important in-depth discussions about every race week in NASCAR's schedule. Following the end of the race, Hamlin expressed his confusion over the plethora of options available to chew over for his upcoming podcast episode via a post on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote:

"Looking at the topics for tomorrow, I'm at a loss, where do we even start?"

The Yellawood 500 was not short on drama. Besides witnessing one of the biggest wrecks in the history of the NASCAR Cup Series that collected 28 cars, Team Penske's Ryan Blaney's retirement from the race following contact with HMS driver Alex Bowman, which also caught Hamlin's #11 Toyota, has sparked controversy. Moreover, Hamlin himself fell back into the back of the grid, calling the moment "awkward" on the team radio.

Despite facing troubles, Denny Hamlin, who is known to be a strong performer on superspeedways, secured a top ten position, crossing the finish line in P10. As things currently stand, the Virginia native is P5 in the driver standings and 30 points above the Round of 8 cut-off line.

Denny Hamlin reflects on Talladega performance and provides insights on expectations from Charlotte

Denny Hamlin shed light on his fortune at Talladega following a P10 finish after an underwhelming race. Hamlin, who was not short on trouble in the Yellawood 500, further expressed his views on returning to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America ROVAL 400.

Hamlin's #11 Toyota got caught up in the aftermath of a wreck right as Stage Two finished, ending the race for reigning champion Ryan Blaney and Trackhouse Racing's Ross Chastain. The damage from the wreck further slowed him down in the race.

However, the massive 28-car wreck in the final stage of the race helped Hamlin recover his track position. Reflecting on the race, he said (via Frontstretch):

"Since I was 1.5 miles away from the wreck when it happened, I knew I was safe from getting in that but you know, the damage we had just made it too slow to hang on to the pack. And so we needed something like that to happen you know, other's misfortune for us to capitalize on, and we somehow got a top 10 out of the damaged car we had," Hamlin said.

On being asked what his expectations were after a fortunate race at Talladega, and heading into the Round of 12 finale at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Denny Hamlin said:

"I wish our FedEx One Rate Toyota was not as damaged as it was, and we could contend for a win But it just wasn't gonna be after that Blaney wreck and we made the most of our day, which is all you can ask for," he added (at 1:10).

The Bank of America ROVAL 400 is scheduled for October 13, at 2 PM ET. Catch the broadcast live on NBC Sports, PRN Live, and SiriusXM NASCAR channel.
