The Cup Series Championship race just wrapped up at Phoenix Raceway, and defending champion Ryan Blaney's teammate Joey Logano won his third title in an intense battle in the final laps. Blaney ended in P2 and, in a post-race interview, expressed his feelings about losing the title to his teammate.

The #12 Ford Mustang driver was in 17th position on the grid at the beginning of the race with a best time of 26.813 seconds and a top speed of 134.263 mph. Martin Truex Jr. led the pack, and Blaney was 0.095 seconds behind him and made a significant recovery in stage one, finishing in P6.

In stage two, Ryan Blaney took the lead from Christopher Bell in lap 178 and finished in P1. However, this wasn't enough to beat Joey Logano and win the title. Lead cars took a pit stop on lap 188, Bell won the race off pit road, taking the lead from the #12 driver, and Logano was in fourth position.

Zane Smith brought out the caution with 54 laps to go, leading to a restart. William Byron led the restart while Ryan Blaney and Tyler Reddick were battling for sixth place. Logano took the lead from Byron in lap 260, going extremely left to other drivers. Blaney went for the lead and passed Kyle Larson in lap 278 but was still 3.338 seconds behind his teammate.

The #12 closed the gap to Logano in lap 306, minimizing the time difference to 0.190 seconds, but it still wasn't enough to take the lead. Blaney reflected on the situation and said (via PRNlive on X):

"Worn out. I just couldn't quite get there. I was trying hard to get there. The restart didn't help me. I ran out of time. Congrats to Joey and the No. 22 team."

23XI Racing's suspended spotter explained the "chattering" issue faced by Ryan Blaney during the Phoenix Race

Team Penske driver Ryan Blaney highlighted a strange issue he faced during the final race of the Cup Series championship held at Phoenix Raceway on November 10, 2024. While battling for the lead in the final stage of the race, he suffered from "chattering" on his team radio.

The issue grabbed 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace's suspended spotter Freddie Kraft's attention, and he explained what happened on Dirty Mo Media on X:

"Tires chattering is like when you when the front, when you're tight the front tire chatter. When you're free, the rear tire chatter or like. Now if you said everything's chattering it's kind of like a four wheel slide where you're just. Did you hear like you ever drove a street car? You turn them. That's that's your tire generator. Okay, so that's that's what you feeling."

Blaney showcased his dominance by winning stage 2 and leading 12 laps in the race to achieve ultimate glory. However, his teammate ultimately took the Cup Series title home.
