Former NASCAR driver Kurt Busch went public earlier this year about his relationship with Lyda Moore on Instagram. It is unknown how long the couple have been together, however, their earliest photographs together were posted on the former 23XI Racing car driver's Instagram in May this year.
Moore is a medical aesthetician and laser technician who works at a laser center in Chandler, Arizona.
Moore graduated from Aveda Institute-Phoenix in 2018 as a skin care specialist. The couple went on vacation together to Disneyland recently and were also seen attending an NFL game, an MLB game, and an USAC Midget Race over the last year.
The 34-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner posted about their trip to Disneyland recently with the caption:
"Warning! Here comes my Disneyland photo dump I haven’t been here since I was 12yr old. Thanks @Disneyland we had a blast!"
The 2004 NASCAR Cup Championship winner has also been married twice before. His first marriage was to Eva Bryan, to whom he was married from 2006 to 2011. A few years later, Busch married Ashley Van Metre, a polo player. The couple were married for five years until their divorce in 2022.
Kurt Busch retired in 2023 and has been spotted often with Lyda Moore post-retirement.
Kurt Busch talks about still dealing with the effects of his crash
Kurt Busch, who raced for 22 seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series, announced his retirement in August 2023 for a few reasons, one of which was the crash he suffered at the Pocono Raceway in July 2022. The 46-year-old spoke in an interview earlier this month about how he is still reeling from the accident that happened two years ago.
Speaking about what he's dealt with since his crash, he said (via racer.com):
"The vestibular movements were what was greatly affected. I still feel the lingering effects but it has calmed down, and it has been through all the physical therapy and all the great doctors who have helped me.”
Since his crash, Busch has stepped into a consulting role in NASCAR, continuing his relationship with his former team 23XI Racing. In this role, he is able to share his expertise with the drivers and help with team development. Speaking about his role, Busch continued (via racer.com):
“It was great to just be on the sidelines coaching a little bit with 23XI Racing and helping Tyler Reddick make the Final Four with just some of the little things that I can add. Bubba Wallace was also playoff-bound for a long while during the season in 2024. It’s great to have a home and a place in 23XI Racing to dump some of my years of experience on and to coach the next generation of crew chiefs and engineers, and the marketing team, the licensing team, and the sales team. It’s fun to have a PhD in the sport of NASCAR at this point.”
It is not confirmed that Kurt Busch will return to racing in the Cup Series anytime soon, however, the 2017 Daytona 500 winner said:
"I’m hopeful to get a light duty type of clearance to race with my neurologist, which would then open up some opportunity for me.”
