Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin recently reacted to the governing body's drastic measures to keep the budget in control. The two showcased their disappointment in the organization's decision to add more races to keep the cost under control.

To meet safety regulations and reduce costs, NASCAR announced restrictions on the Truck Series pit crew uniforms for the 2025 season. The rule includes no sponsorship branding for the behind-the-wall crew members. They can opt for any color for the dress and can only have Craftsman, Sunoco, Goodyear, and NASCAR logos. (optional)

On the other hand, the over-the-wall crew members were allowed to have sponsorship branding on their suits. Also, garage shirts could have sponsorship logos. This decision caught Kevin Harvick's attention, and he was confused by the decision. He asked:

"What in the world is happening…."

Denny Hamlin gave a sarcastic reply to the former 2014 Cup Series Champion:

"Its called cutting your way to prosperity Kev. Duhhh"

A fan joined their convo and asked for other ways to keep the budget under control, and Harvick expressed his anger:

"First don’t add more races to the schedule…"

NASCAR has introduced two new race tracks to the 2025 season, increasing the races from 23 in 2024 to 25 in the next season. The new races will be held at the Rockingham Speedway on April 18, 2025, and Lime Rock Park on June 18, 2025.

Denny Hamlin expressed his views on the playoff system

The current playoff system primarily focuses on the wins, allowing the advancement to the next race. But Denny Hamlin believes that the 26 regular season races are losing their value as the ten playoff races set the field of the Championship Four race.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver expressed his views on the playoff system, highlighting the current situation of 2024 Cup Series champion Joey Logano's poor regular season.

“I think what we’re trying to get to and the message we’re trying to send is make the regular season matter more, right? Those 26 races, its proving to not be that substantial to winning a championship and that’s not something you want. So my message to NASCAR would be make the regular season worth more, not just the championship and the points you get, because right now, the last three years you would say, the champion didn’t have to do much in the regular season and that’s not good,” Denny Hamlin said via Sportsnaut.

Team Penske driver won three races in the playoffs and had only one win in the regular season. In 2023, Logano's teammate Blaney bagged the championship title with only three wins, outperforming Kyle Larson with four wins and William Byron with six wins.
