A renowned NASCAR journalist revealed a major change ahead of the 2025 Cup Series season. He shared that the Stock Car Association has decided to remove the American Ethanol “Get Bioethanol” branding from both around and inside the fuel port starting the Daytona 500. However, fans have mixed reactions to the governing body's decision.

The governing body partnered with American Ethanol over a decade ago in 2011 and switched to Sunoco Green E15 ethanol-infused fuel, marking a significant environmental boost. The E15 fuel reduced emissions by 20% with a 9 to 12 horsepower boost.

Fast forward to 2021, NASCAR made a significant change, introducing the Get Bioethanol branding during the Nashville Superspeedway race. The sanctioning body rebranded American Ethanol and presented a fresh look, including a green, white, and black livery on Austin Dillon's #3 Chevy Camaro, emphasizing its long-term commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

NASCAR aimed to promote the widespread use of cleaner fuel in the automotive industry, highlighting the benefits of bioethanol on tracks and roads. However, for the 2025 season, the sanctioning body removed the branding from all of their three series. Some fans expressed criticism while others appreciated the decision.

A fan expressed his frustration with NASCAR's decision and wrote:

"Soo goof👎it would look so un-normal"

Another joined the fan and supported his decision, commenting:

"Could still see teams using it for accuracy during pit stops"

One fan appreciated the decision, reminiscing about the early days of stock car racing, and stated:

"close enough, welcome back no ring around fuel port"

Another supported the argument and commented:

"Nice. This will improve the look of schemes and diecasts that don't have any green!"

Others expressed their excitement on seeing cars without the green logo stating:

"First time in 15 years!?!?! I’m excited! lol"

One mentioned removing the ethanol and commented:

"Now just get the ethanol out of the fuel"

However, the Stock Car Association hasn't made any official statement about the major change of removing the "Get Bioethanol" logo in the 2025 season.

NASCAR returns to the historic venue after decades in the 2025 season

In August 2024, NASCAR announced the return of the Cup Series championship to the historic Bowman Gray Stadium after a long time. The Cup Series' opening race at the quarter-mile oval track is scheduled for February 2, 2025, after a hiatus of 51 years since Bobby Allison won the track's final race in 1971.

The track is situated in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and is often referred to as NASCAR's longest-running weekly race track. The opening race will feature a 150-lap race covering 38.5 miles on the oval track. Additionally, the track hosted 29 Cup Series races from 1958 to 1971, and Bob Welborn won the debut event.

It will feature additional events, including a 125-lap exhibition race at the Madhouse Classic a day prior to the main race. The Stock Car Association will invite only 20 drivers to the main event at the Bowman Gray Stadium.
