On a recent episode of "The Dale Jr. Download," Dale Earnhardt Jr., whose net worth is pegged at $300 million [via Celebrity Net Worth], hosted former NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler. The latter expressed his gratitude towards the former for raising awareness about autism. Sadler shared some personal insights, revealing that his middle daughter, who is autistic, has taught him invaluable life lessons.
Sadler's daughter Hailie was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum in 2001. Since then, Sadler has been dedicated to raising awareness about autism. Along with his brother Hermie, also a former NASCAR driver, Sadler has established a foundation to help families with the costs of caring for an autistic member.
In a discussion on Earnhardt Jr.'s podcast, Sadler opened up about his experiences:
"February 9th. 2001 is when we got her diagnosis. [...] But she [Hailie] brings so much joy. It takes everybody because everybody has to give a little something when you've got somebody like Hailie in the family. It's only in certain places we can go eat, in some places we can't.
"And I want to give, if they listen to this, give Cora and my youngest daughter Naomi. Because they have both sacrificed since they were kids, for Haile. But our whole family has been all into... to help her, she turned 26 years old yesterday. And she, she's put a lot of things in perspective for me. I can tell you that."
After Dirty Mo. Media shared a snippet of this conversation on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sadler reshared the video, expressing his gratitude towards Earnhardt Jr. for providing him a platform to spread awareness about autism. He wrote:
"Thanks @DaleJr for allowing me to create more awareness!! 💙"
Sadler's career in NASCAR stretched from 1992 to 2019, during which he occasionally stepped back from full-time driving to work as a broadcaster for Speed/Fox. He contributed as a reporter on NASCAR RaceDay and as a pit reporter for Truck Series broadcasts. Over his career, Sadler notched two wins and 44 top-10 finishes across 266 Xfinity Series races.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was happy to see the CARS Tour series thrive during NASCAR's Olympic break
With NASCAR on a break, grassroots racing has caught the eye of various media outlets, including the "Rubbin' Is Racing" sports podcast. Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared his happiness about the increased exposure on his podcast. He remarked:
"We had a fantastic pro race. Our Pro Late- that race and that race finish got retweeted by 'Rubbin' is Racing'. I mean... what a great treat for us. NASCAR taking a break for the Olympics."
