NASCAR mechanic, Dave Green, recently gave a plausible explanation as to why Kyle Busch was not performing at his peak. Green suggested that the 39-year-old father of two is now more occupied with family responsibilities.

Kyle and his wife, Samantha Busch, are proud parents of 9-year-old Brexton, and 2-year-old daughter Lennix. Following in the footsteps of his two-time Cup champion father, Brexton is racking up wins in grassroots racing series. Despite his hectic Cup schedule, Kyle makes it a priority to accompany Brexton to most events.

Dave Green (@nascarprophecy), believes that Kyle Busch's increased responsibilities as a family man have prevented him from dedicating the same amount of time as he did in his younger years. Green suggests that this shift in commitment could be a possible reason behind his decline in performance.

"When people wonder why Kyle isn’t running as strong as in the past watch this video. This is (100%) why. In life you realize there is more important things in life then just you racing." Green wrote on X, reposting Busch's victory lane celebrations with his son.

Green believes that an occupied father cannot compete against a 25-year-old driver who is fully committed to the sport. While he doesn't doubt Busch's dedication to NASCAR, he added that Busch is making the right choice by prioritizing his family.

"Over the past 5 years I’ve watching him grow into an amazing father and in life that’s all that matters. I don’t doubt for a second he still wants win at the cup level but when you’re energy is in other places some sacrifices are made. The time and energy a single 25 year old can put into racing is unmatched next to a loving father. Kyle in my opinion is winning in the department that matters great job! @KyleBusch."

Last year, Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha sold their Truck Series outfit, KBM, citing similar reasons. The #8 Richard Childress Racing driver desired to spend more time with his son and support his racing endeavors. Additionally, he also shut down the operations of Rowdy Energy.

Kyle Busch celebrates Brexton's recent victory

While the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion is having a dreadful run this season, his son Brexton Busch is carrying on the winning tradition for the family.

The 9-year-old recently won a Box stock race and earned the Hard Charger title in the Jr. Wing category. Sharing the victory lane with his father, he got pranked when Kyle called him to hold the trophy and playfully drenched him with a 'victory shower.'

"Victory Shower!...A Win and Hard Charger last night for @brextonbusch, starting to heat up!" he wrote on X.

Contrary to his son's fortune, Kyle Busch's 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign hasn't transpired as he had hoped. With 10 rounds left in the regular season, he is in the thick of the playoff bubble.
