Chandler and Kenzie have been together since they were in their teens, they first met in Jasper, Georgia. After a long and successful relationship, Chandler proposed to Kenzie on New Year’s Day in 2021. Later that year, on July 17, they tied the knot.

On August 4, 2022, the couple welcomed their first son, Chandler Smith Jr. Their second child, also a boy, was born on October 19, 2023, and they named him Noble Jacq Smith.

"It must all come down to money"- Eric Estepp on Chandler Smith's move to Front Row Motorsports

For the 2025 season, Chandler Smith will be stepping down from the Xfinity series to drive in the Truck Series with Front Row Motorsports. Motorsports influencer Eric Estepp views this step down from Xfinity as likely due to financial reasons.

Estepp also suggested that sponsorship and funding might have played a big role, especially given the strong backing JGR’s current drivers have.

"What if I told you that Chandler Smith was jobless in mid-December and had to settle for a Truck Series ride. It's got to be money, right? He maybe doesn't have the funding he used to or maybe you look at who JGR put in their Xfinity cars instead.
"Yes, it's a step backwards to step down the ladder, no matter how you slice it, but he's still in a championship-contending car, he'll still race on national TV and contend for wins on a regular basis. It's not a bad ride. I'm just surprised that a driver with Chandler Smith's resume wound up getting demoted. It must all come down to money."

Regardless, Smith is not completely new to the Truck Series since he has competed before with Kyle Busch Motorsports. When the official announcement about his move to the FRM was announced, he expressed optimism about this move, in the press release. Smith said:

“I’m excited to join Front Row Motorsports' Truck program. They are a top contender in the Truck Series and have proven so with championships and wins. I like what they are building here and am honored to have the opportunity to add to it. We are getting a bit of a late start, but I am excited about the caliber of talent we are talking to in being a part of this program for 2025."

FRM made the official announcement on X.
