Dave Portnoy caught up with several NASCAR Cup Series drivers ahead of the Homestead-Miami race. He was seen hanging out with Ryan Blaney and giving Noah Gragson an autograph.

For the uninitiated, he is the owner of the sports media company, Barstool Sports. Portnoy, who is worth $150 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), founded the company in 2003 as a sports and gambling newspaper before becoming a sports and pop culture blog today.

In an Instagram post by Team Penske, No. 12 driver Blaney posed with Portnoy in the infield of the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Blaney was wearing his usual Team Penske uniform, while Portnoy rocked a No. 22 Iowa jersey of WNBA player Caitlin Clark.

Team Penske on Instagram wrote:

“Certified 12 out of 10.”

Portnoy was also invited into a Stewart-Haas Racing RV where the Barstool Sports owner signed Noah Gragson’s samurai sword before posing for a photo op.

Rubbin is Racing, Barstool Sports’ NASCAR podcast, posted on X (formerly Twitter) the moment Portnoy caught up with 23XI driver Tyler Reddick in the infield. The two recalled when Reddick won the 2019 Xfinity Series Food City 300 and Portnoy was there to celebrate with him.

“I look a little bit different,” Tyler Reddick told Dave Portnoy while looking at their photo op in 2019.

The Straight Talk Wireless 400 from Homestead-Miami Speedway is the second race of the Round of 8. Ryan Blaney and Tyler Reddick are still in playoff contention, albeit both drivers are below the elimination cut-line.

Dave Portnoy bet on Tyler Reddick to win the Homestead-Miami race

Dave Portnoy endorsed Tyler Reddick to sports bettors to win the Straight Talk Wireless 400. The No. 45 23XI Racing driver had a strong qualifying performance as he secured pole position for the race.

In an X post by Portnoy, he said:

“Alright, Homestead, right here, can’t bet at Miami, can bet it all the places. DraftKings guy… I’m a DraftKings guy. Tyler Reddick, that’s who we’re betting on today […] He loves the track. That’s inside intel,” Dave Portnoy said.

The qualifying session saw Reddick secure pole over Kyle Larson by 0.077 seconds. They were followed by Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., respectively.

The top 10 starting positions were completed by Martin Truex Jr., Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, Daniel Hemric, and Justin Haley, respectively.

Reddick had good results in previous outings at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He finished fourth in his rookie year with Richard Childress Racing in 2020. The Toyota driver came home in second in 2021 before finishing third last year.

As of this writing, Reddick sits sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff standings. He is -30 below the bubble along with Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, and Chase Elliott.
