Joey Logano led just 9 laps in the Ally 400, and still bagged his first win of the season at Nashville Superspeedway. However, fans found it unusual that the Team Penske driver survived five overtime restarts after his last refuel and still had enough gas to run the next 110 laps.

NASCAR halted the race for 81 minutes due to an incoming thunderstorm with 143 laps to go. Therefore, the race, which was originally supposed to be a 300-lap event, was stretched out over 31 additional laps.

Nevertheless, it was Joey Logano's first victory at the 1.33-mile, D-shaped racetrack in Tennessee and also the 33rd of his Cup career. Congratulating Logano on his win, NASCAR on NBC posted:

"REPOST TO CONGRATULATE JOEY LOGANO! 🏁"
"HE WINS IN QUINTUPLE OVERTIME AT NASHVILLE. #NASCAR"

Several fans reacted to the post, with one suggesting that the fuel in Logano's tank was somehow more than what the drivers needed to complete the extra laps.

"Fuel line must be longer than the track," the fan said.

Another fan accused the number 22 team of cheating.

"cheated," they said.

Here are some other reactions to Joey Logano winning the 19th race of the season.

"He cheated no way he had 110 laps of fuel," a fan wrote.
"🤣🤣🤣🤣 Mickey Mouse a*s win," said another.
"NASCAR had better take a good long look at the fuel tank size and system of that car," a fan commented.

Joey Logano became the third and final Team Penske driver to clinch a playoff berth. His teammates Austin Cindric and Ryan Blaney are already there in the playoff rumble owing to their victories at the World Wide Technology Raceway and Iowa Speedway, respectively.

"Gotta give a lot of credit to our fueler"- Joey Logano considers his win the result of a team effort

Joe Gibbs Racing drivers Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. committed to the pit road after the third overtime, allowing Joey Logano to grab the lead. He was well poised to win the race during the fourth overtime, but right before he could make the white flag lap, NASCAR brought out the final caution.

Logano's crew chief, Paul Wolfe, knew that Logano would lose positions had they stopped for a refuel at that moment. Therefore, the #12 Mustang stayed on the track to get a good restart.

Recalling the decisive moment, the Connecticut native told PRN as reported by Frontstretch:

"Gotta give a lot of credit to our fueler, our engine department and some guts."
"It’s been a hard season. Being on that cut line, it sucks. You just want a little relief of the pressure. Winning with seven weeks until the playoffs gives us a chance to breathe and work on our cars and just sleep better," he added.

Logano, despite being low on fuel, held off a fast-charging Tyler Reddick and Zane Smith, edging the latter by 0.068 seconds. His next race is at the Grant Park 165 at the Chicago road course on July 7.
