The 2024 NASCAR Shasta 150 is done and dusted. The seventh race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series West season commenced at 11:30 pm ET on Saturday (July 27) at the Shasta Speedway with 13 entries.
Tyler Reif, driving the #13 Toyota for Central Coast Racing, secured his first win of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series West season in a dominant fashion at Shasta Speedway.
The 17-year-old Las Vegas native had a memorable day as he set the best speed in both practice and qualifying, and then led every 150 laps en route to his dominating win at 0.375-mile track.
Reif managed to hold off the late charge of Sean Hingorani in the closing laps and crossed the finish line by a margin of 2.493 seconds to grab the checkered flag. The win marked his second career victory in the ARCA West series.
Expressing his emotions on his dominating win at Shasta, Reif said in victory lane (via arcaracing.com):
“It means the world to me. Me and this team have worked so hard this year, our first [full] year together. We’ve done nothing but grinding, being consistent, and getting better and better.”
Speaking about his runner-up finish, Sean Hingorani, the defending West Series champion, said (via arcaracing.com):
“I think we were better for the first bit there. Then we just got too free. Nothing I could do about it; just struggled with a little bit of drive. These Jerry Pitts Racing guys worked really hard all weekend. I can’t thank them enough for that.”
Meanwhile, Trevor Huddleston, Derek Copeland and Kyle Keller finished in the top five. Jack Wood, Todd Souza, Nick Joanides, Takuma Koga, and David Smith completed the top 10.
