NASCAR fans have reacted to Kyle Busch's disappointment at the Kansas Speedway. The Richard Childress Racing driver was inching closer toward his maiden victory this season, but the pursuit of lapping Chase Briscoe proved costly for the #8 Chevy.

Busch has never gone through a season without parking his car in the victory lane since debuting full-time in 2005. However, the current season has jeopardized his 19-year-old streak. Although the RCR driver was leading the Hollywood Casino 400, his attempt to outmaneuver Stewart-Haas Racing's Briscoe backfired.

On Lap 236, the #8 Chevy driver tried to swoop past the #14 Ford from the outside, but there wasn't enough room for the race leader to propel forward. But Briscoe slightly steered toward the inside to capitalize on the air from the car ahead, opening up the top lane. Still, it was tight for the NextGen car to pass through.

Nonetheless, Kyle Busch pinned his Chevy and tried to make way. However, his right front contacted the outside wall and the two-time Cup Series champion spun from first position, rounding up a 19th-place finish.

Seeing Busch's relentless effort to steer through the marginal space robbing his potential win, fans opined on the incident.

"Go home you whiner! You need to retire," a fan wrote.
"Once again Busch wrecks himself!" one fan commented.
"Kyle Busch. All hype. Never converting good runs into wins," a fan reacted.

One fan shared a GIF which says, "My goat washed."

"@KyleBusch and his few fans will cry about @ChaseBriscoe_14 but he was doing what he should. Krylebaby should’ve drove differently. If the roles were reversed, Krylebaby would’ve done the same," one fan commented.

NASCAR insiders scrutinize Kyle Busch's "shocking" Kansas disappointment

After Kyle Busch's fateful Kansas weekend, NASCAR insiders Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi examined the former's "skillset" in adapting to the NextGen cars.

"It (the win) was within his grasp and it all slipped away while he was trying to lap Chase Briscoe. What a moment there, that was fairly shocking, I was like, 'Whoa what just happened?'" Gluck said via Dirty Mo Media on X (0:18).
"Certainly a missed opportunity. I think a bigger issue that's been an issue for Kyle Busch since this new car which is, I don't think his skillset is adapting well to this and it's been a struggle for him sometimes to get his hands around it and sometimes when he doesn't have a great car he's pushed too much, and other times when he's had good cars and maybe tried to do a little too much, he's got himself in trouble," Bianchi said (0:59).

From 30 race weekends, Kyle Busch has collected five top-5s and ten top-10s but is yet to emerge victorious. The RCR driver came close to bagging his maiden 2024 win several times- at the regular season races in Atlanta, Daytona, Darlington, and the recent Kansas race.

Busch missed the Atlanta win by 0.007 seconds over Daniel Suarez while Ryan Blaney took the second spot in a three-wide photo finish. He was met with another setback at Daytona when Parker Retzlaff propelled Harrison Burton to victory while Busch came second.

At the regular-season final in Darlington, the RCR driver couldn't find his way past Chase Briscoe for the final 17 laps and again, finished second. In Kansas, even though nearly 30 laps were remaining, the #8 Chevy had 26 laps led and could've won the race, had the spin-off didn't occur.
