Joe Gibbs Racing driver Martin Truex Jr. is racing the final season of his Cup Series career and has a surprise packed for his fans. Recently, one of his fans shared a sneak peek of the surprise from the Joe Gibbs Racing facility.

The picture posted on X had Truex Jr.'s car, along with Ty Gibbs's car, in the parking lot. To make the #19 driver's last race memorable, the Joe Gibbs Racing team has painted his car in a new paint scheme. The paint scheme made the fans go crazy in the comments.

The orange and black livery brought back memories of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series title won by Martin Truex Jr. under Joe Gibbs Racing's banner in the #78 car. He also became the regular season champion in the same championship. It was the season where Truex Jr. outperformed drivers like Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Brad Keselowski.

Fans wasted no time recalling Martin Turex Jr.'s 2017 championship in his iconic #78 Toyota Camry and filled the comments with their speculations.

A motorsports fan got lost in the nostalgic paint scheme and commented:

"GOOD HEAVENS ITS BEAUTIFUL"

Another fan commented:

"Martin Truex 2017 championship throwback is happening!!!!"

One more fan joined him in the comments and said:

"The car that'll get him his last win."

A motorsport enthusiast highlighted that:

"For his late race they need to change it to the 78."

One of the fans recalled NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick's retirement and commented:

"This probably for homestead like last year for Harvick."

Martin Truex Jr. currently ranks in 12th place and would not be part of the round of eight in his last season. However, fans are excited for the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series Race at Homestead-Miami scheduled on October 28, 2024.

Martin Truex Jr. explains the reason behind retiring from NASCAR

Martin Truex Jr., a former NASCAR Cup Series champion, is all set to retire by the end of the 2024 season. After spending almost two decades in the motorsports industry, the NASCAR veteran wants more time to focus on other aspects of his life outside racing.

The #19 driver announced his departure from the sport in June this year and held a press conference to confirm the same:

“I mean, it’s as simple as just not having a crazy schedule where, you know, you’re 40 weekends at a racetrack. Everyone in my family, who’s ever gotten married, I’ve missed their wedding. You know what I mean? ... You don’t have a life. You’re married to racing, that’s all you do. Monday until Sunday, that’s all you do.”

Chase Briscoe from the Stewart-Haas Racing team will be replacing Martin Truex Jr. for the 2025 season.
