Kyle Larson picked Clint Bowyer as his top choice for the upcoming Rackley Roofing 200 Truck race at Nashville Superspeedway. He noted that since Bowyer often selected him as the favorite on Sundays, it was only fair to return the favor this time around.

Clint Bowyer, who hung up his full-time racing gloves at the end of the 2020 NASCAR season, will make a return to truck racing, an arena he hasn't competed in since 2016. Last time, he raced the #24 Truck for GMS Racing in the Heart of America 200 at Kansas, where he finished a fifth-place.

On the other side, Kyle Larson is enjoying a robust season with Hendrick Motorsports. Now in his fourth season with the team, Larson is currently leading the charts with 620 points, bolstered by three wins, eight top-5s, and nine top-10s.

Fox recently concluded its portion of the 2024 Cup Series broadcasts at Sonoma Raceway, and now, free from his analyst duties, Clint Bowyer is ready to jump back into the racing fray, much like Kevin Harvick is set to compete at Five Flags Speedway.

Bowyer will take the wheel of the #7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports. The particular truck, which has been handled by various drivers throughout the season, currently holds the fifth spot in owner points and has seen victories with Kyle Busch in Atlanta and Texas earlier this year.

Kyle Larson, placing his bet on the former Cup Series contender who recently qualified P11, showed his support on his official X handle writing:

"Since I’m obviously @ClintBowyer favorite on Sundays I’m going to have to pick him tonight at @NashvilleSuperS @NASCAR_Trucks . Good luck old man!"

Kyle Larson is expected to dominate the Ally 400 race at Nashville

Since NASCAR made its return to Nashville in 2021 after a hiatus of nearly four decades, three drivers—Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Ross Chastain—have each won in Music City, along with the Gibson Guitar trophy.

Kyle Larson, with victories at Las Vegas, Kansas, and Sonoma this season, has become a favorite. He's not only led a series-high 755 laps but also boasts an average finish of 12.5. At Nashville, Larson's record is impressive; he's never finished worse than fifth.

The #5 driver dominated the inaugural Cup race at the track in 2021 by leading 264 laps, secured fourth place in 2022, and fifth in the following year. This year, Larson has accumulated a series-high 192 stage points and leads with 23 playoff points.

However, there's a brewing points battle between Kyle Larson and his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott, as both are currently tied at 620 points in the standings.

While Larson is one the top because of his wins, Elliott's consistency has him in the top 2, with zero DNFs (Did Not Finish) this season. In all 18 races thus far, Elliott has finished no worse than 20th, even managing a P18 finish at the USA Today 301, despite a clash with Joey Logano.
