Earnhardt received a lot of flak for working on a Ford truck and he explained the reason behind that:

"I got a lot of grief for that. Have you know, that's my daughter's truck. We've been in the rodeo industry for a while, and of all the manufacturers, Ford had the less issues of failures.
"And we chose that truck because our daughter was going to Oklahoma in college, so 20 plus hours away. We wanted something that we felt was reliable, and that's why we have the Ford pickup."

The story uploaded by him was of her daughter's F-450 from when she got into an accident and was okay despite the heavy crash. The caption of the reel read:

“Got a lot of grief over the #fordtruck picture! I get it, but here's the deal. We've traveled across country for the last 10 years pulling living quarter horse trailers and the Ford has stood up the best within our rodeo family. I've hauled with a 2015 #chevrolet 3500 dually all those years! Even Added a 60 gallon diesel tank to make the long desolate miles!”
“It totaled her truck, but there was no way we could not replace that truck with another Ford 450 which was the red truck in the picture I was under the hood tightening up a loose wire.”

Kerry Earnhardt received was criticized for working on the Ford pickup. Hence, he uploaded the story of the crashed truck, and then the reel to explain how it was a Ford that saved her daughter's life. He further went on in the caption to explain how no car manufacturer is perfect and that they all have room to improve.

Kerry Earnhardt asked friends and family to stop worrying about the crash
