Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently spoke about the "awesome" day he had after sharing his excitement over the recent tie-up between Budweiser and JR Motorsports. Budweiser was the former NASCAR driver's sponsor for nearly a decade from 1999 to 2007, when he drove for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. before joining Hendrick Motorsports.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Earnhardt Jr. announced his reunion with the brand and confirmed that he would be racing in a 250-lap race at the Florence Motor Speedway with the same paint scheme from his 2007 Cup Series #8 Chevy car.

"Hey everybody, it's Dale Jr., and we're just kind of wrapping up the day here, getting ready to head home. It's been awesome; great to finally get the news out about the Bud car. We've really been excited about that, and I know a lot of y'all would too. So, just thanks for all the feedback, and hopefully you'll, if not, come out to the race in Florence, before Thanksgiving, you'll watch on flow, and two fifty laps will be a good show, and hopefully we can run well." Earnhardt Jr. enjoyed his day after podcasting and sharing news of the new sponsors for JR Motorsports:

"It's been fun today, doing a lot of podcasting and interviews and so forth here at JR Motorsports. And kind of been out of the loop for a little bit, travel a lot, but it's nice to be back home and look forward to the holidays. Hope everybody had a great day." [00:29]

The South Carolina 400 race is scheduled for November 23, 2024, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. is all set to drive his iconic red Bud King of Beers #8 Chevy in the upcoming race.

"They knew what they were doing": Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed the reason behind Budweiser's iconic paint scheme

JR Motorsports owner and NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed the reason behind Budweiser's iconic red paint scheme on his podcast. Earnhardt Jr. took part in 291 races with his legendary #8 Chevy, winning 17 races and achieving unmatched success during his sponsorship with Budweiser.

The Bud King of Beers became a synonym for the latter from 1999 to 2007. The former NASCAR Cup Series driver highlighted that Budweiser wanted to build an iconic brand people can recognize easily. So the sponsors went with the same color scheme each year, making it easy for everyone to spot them in between the pack.

"That makes a whole lot of sense, because now, all these years later, you know, if I had drove 10 or eight different Bud cars throughout the year each year, would this scheme be all that transcending or recognizable, or would it be as iconic today? Likely a little bit less iconic," explained Dale Earnhardt Jr. [00:16].

He added:

"I appreciate their insistence. They knew how to sell beer, right? They knew how to make sure they were easy to spot, easy to find, and they knew what they were doing." [00:31]

Earnhardt Jr. mentioned that he learned a lot throughout his time with the beer company feels "strongly" about their principles and tries to apply them while making big decisions.
