The Haas Factory Team president talked about the technical alliance with RFK Racing following the signing of Cole Custer for a Cup Series ride, piloting the #41 Ford for the 2025 season. In light of Stewart-Haas Racing's closure, Gene Haas will continue his involvement, having registered one Cup and two Xfinity Series charters.

Speaking with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, HFT president Custer added more insights to their technical alliance with RFK Racing.:

"We're in really good shape on data, everything we need next year. There's no lack of support from Ford. And then RFK, they've got experience, and candidly we have experience on both sides of alliances. We do it right now in Xfinity, and quite a bit of it."

In the conversation, Custer mentioned their previous alliance with Hendrick Motorsports and running Chevrolet engines.

He said that the organization built a successful program in the late 2000s and early 2010s. It's also worth mentioning that during this time SHR won two Cup Series titles with Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick.

"I feel like, we in some ways, established a very successful program with Hendrick Motorsports when we had an affiliation with them. So we kind of know what it takes," Custer said.

Co-owned by Brad Keselowski, RFK Racing, one of the strongest teams under Ford's roster, competes in the Cup Series with two full-time drivers. Chris Buescher pilots the #17 Ford Mustang, while the 2012 Cup Series champion Keselowski drives the #6 car.

Haas president shares fundamental approach to success with budding relationship with Brad Keselowski

Following Gene Haas and NASCAR veteran Brad Keselowski's collaboration, the HFT president Joe Custer talked about the personal aspect of building relationships with members of the organization.

In the aforementioned conversation, Custer noted that writing documents and having agreements at the top of the organization won't work unless there's a good relationship with crew chiefs and engineers inside the team. He said (via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio):

"There's a personal aspect to racing that you can never overestimate. And so that is going to be key to our success is the relationships we actually build with those faults. And we have them now. "

Custer mentioned that they have a group of all the Ford teams and that everyone knows everyone:

"So, we know they're people, they know ours. We look to build on that, but more importantly, at the crew chief race engineer level, earning a good relationship with RFK."

HFT have confirmed their Cup Series ride, but the future drivers for the two-car charter in the Xfinity Series are still uncertain.

With Cole Custer returning to NASCAR's top division, that leaves a spot to fill in the Xfinity car. The future of Riley Herbst, #00 Custer's SHR teammate, is still uncertain after he was reportedly offered a ride with Haas Factory Team.
