Harrison Burton apologized to Front Row Motorsports driver Todd Gilliland after the latter's 'didn't invite me to dinner' complaint. The Wood Brothers Racing driver cherished his date night with fiance Jenna Petty but ditched his buddy Gilliland.

Burton and Gilliland are rivals on the track but share a good friendship off the racetrack. The duo hits the golf course together and has also been featured in NASCAR's 'Fast Friends' video, wherein they played a game of golf and debated who among them was a better driver.

The string of Gilliland's take on Burton ensued after the FRM driver reacted to Austin Dillon's Las Vegas wreck. A fan randomly asked the #38 Ford driver about his opinion on the WBR rival. Gilliland revealed that Burton didn't invite him to the dinner and thus isn't atop his priority list.

The FRM driver's comment caught the #21 driver's eye and he explained being on a date night with Jenna and apologized. He wrote:

"Had a nice date night with my fiancé sorry dude 😂," Burton wrote.

Moreover, to make up for the loss, Burton went for a golf game with Gilliand and even suggested that the PGA Tour should hire the latter as an announcer. He tweeted:

"Just to close the loop on this went golfing to make it up to @ToddGilliland. I played so bad I asked him to film me so I could see what was wrong… then hit the first good shot all day (hire him as an announcer @PGATOUR)," the WBR driver wrote.

Burton and Gilliland last battled against each other in the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Harrison Burton overturned his bad day in Las Vegas while Gilliand's weekend became worse

The #21 WBR driver's lackluster qualifying run (P31) didn't show signs of dominating the race. However, the #38 FRM driver, having the same Ford Mustang, stood one place ahead in 30th. But as the duo entered the Round of 8 opener, things changed.

Harrison Burton climbed to a 24th-place finish in Stage 1, continued his climb for a 17th-place finish in the second stage, and placed his Ford in the 15th-place finish after completing his 267-lap run.

Todd Gilliland, however, lost multiple track positions to finish P34 in the first stage. He suffered a blow a few laps before Stage 2 wrapped, as his left rear went flat, forcing him to pit for new compounds. Still, he performed better than Stage 1, settling in P31. But Burton's friend couldn't improve his run, rounded up his 34th Cup Series race weekend in 31st place, and was four laps down.

Burton is observing his final year with WBR and will move to the Xfinity Series for AM Racing in 2025. Meanwhile, Gilliand will stay at FRM.
