Joey Logano raced at Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series Mission 200 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International. The two-time Cup Series Champion displayed his skills at the wreck-marred finish on the track. The 34-year-old drove the #15 Ford Mustang for the Panini America Team on Saturday.

However, things didn't start smoothly for Joey Logano as he began the race in 33rd place. In the qualifying lap, the car #15 driver was 2.155 seconds behind Connor Zilisch with a time of 73.183 seconds.

But as the race began, the Panini America Team driver picked up pace, and by the end of stage 1, he managed to climb up the ladder, reaching 14th place.

By the end of stage 2, Joey Logano fell back to the 34th position. But in the final stage, Logano took over many leading drives and surpassed William Byron and Ty Gibbs, securing a position in the top 10 despite starting in the 33rd position.

During overtime and with two laps to go, driver #15, along with many drivers, went slightly off-track at turn 1. It is a sharp turn where cars generally go slightly off-track before making contact with asphalt. Joey Logano shared his experience, writing:

"Started 33rd, had to take it off road on the final laps, and brought home a Top-10 in the No. 15 @PaniniAmerica @FordPerformance #Mustang for @AMRacingNASCAR. Official Finish - P9."

Joey Logano is aiming for his next victory at the Cup Series race

Despite Logano's two pole positions in the first three races, Team Penske had a slow start this year. The 34-year-old has only three top-10 finishes in the first 14 races.

But Team Penske won their spot in the playoffs with Joey Logano's win at the Atlanta Motor Speedway last Sunday. Now, Team Penske is confident about their run for the championship. In a report shared by Catchfence.com, the two-time Cup Series Champion Joey Logano stated:

"We’ve been here before where we’ve not had the best regular season, and then the Playoffs start, and you’re like, where did all that come from? It happens a lot. So, I’d say we’ve always felt pretty confident that we can go win the championship on any year no matter how you get into playoffs."

The 34-year-old driver won a race at Watkins Glen International in 2015, and after his Mission 200 race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, he is warmed up for his next race:

"You hear a lot of drivers say you just got to stay in it, survive and advance. That’s important to keep in mind because if you can survive long enough — and we talked about how close the field is these days — you have a couple good races and boom you’re in the next round. You have another good race where you win one and next thing you know you’re in a Championship Four and you’ve got a shot to win this whole thing," explained Team Penske's driver.

From his statements, Logano's intentions are clear. Despite having a mediocre regular season, he is all set to give a head-to-head battle in the playoffs to other drivers.
