Xfinity Series racer Hailie Deegan and AM Racing recently parted ways. Now, retired NASCAR legend Kenny Wallace has come out in support of the young California-based driver.
Deegan became a part of AM Racing's Xfinity Series line-up in 2022. However, the former K&N Pro Series race winner had a dismal rookie season, finishing in 93rd place in the driver's championship.
Although she aimed to make amends in the 2024 season, Deegan failed to produce the desired results. She was unable to make it to the top 10 in the 17 races that she started. Deegan's disappointing results in the Xfinity Series are likely to be the cause of her and AM Racing parting ways.
Now, after Deegan's sudden dismissal from the Xfinity Series, ex-NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace has supported the 22-year-old racer via a video on his X page. Wallace refuted his good friend and senior NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass's statement about Deegan.
"He (Pockrass) says Hailie Deegan has 1 million something followers on Instagram and like 3 million followers on TikTok. If she could win a NASCAR race, she could be a superstar. Bob, she's already a superstar." Wallace said (3:03 onwards).
Here's a look at Kenny Wallace's X post, captioned:

"So Bob says, if Haley Deegan could win, she could be a superstar. Bob, with numbers like that, she's already a superstar," Wallace added. (4:13 onwards)
With no contract available for 2025, It will likely be difficult for Deegan to find a ride on such short notice.
Hailie Deegan's return to her roots in dirt racing at Milbridge Speedway after the AM Racing Fiasco
Losing her seat in the Xfinity Series mid-season must have been heartbreaking for Hailie Deegan. However, the young California-based driver found herself a distraction to clear her head.
After parting ways with AM Racing, Deegan went back to racing Micro Sprint cars on dirt at the Milbridge Speedway. She returned to driving the #38 race car with Royal Chassis. Despite the setback from the Xfinity Series, Deegan was able to secure second place in the qualifying session.
The young racer posted a picture with her sprint car on Instagram, along with the caption:
"Always a fun night at the dirt track! @monsterenergy @odysseybattery"
For reference, Hailie Deegan began her career in dirt racing at the age of seven. After winning multiple championships and spending close to eight years in dirt racing, the 22-year-old driver switched to racing on asphalt.
Deegan raced in the K&N Pro, ARCA Menards, and Craftsman Truck Series, before eventually getting a seat in the Xfinity Series with AM Racing. However, after two unproductive seasons in the national series, the team dropped Deegan in an abrupt manner.
