Wood Brothers Racing driver Harrison Burton's fiancé Jenna Petty was a part of one of the biggest charity events held in Charlotte, North Carolina, and shared updates on her Instagram. Luke Combs, an American country singer, and his partner Eric Church organized the 'Concert for Carolina' to aid the disaster relief funds for Hurricane Helene victims in western North Carolina.
The concert was held at the Bank of America Stadium on October 26, 2024, and raised $24.5 million. The humble gesture to help the survivors caught Jenna Petty's attention, and she shared the Combs' Instagram post on her story. The 22-year-old was surprised by the results and summarized her appreciation for the noble gesture in one word and wrote:
"unreal 🙌🏻"
More than 80,000 people attended the concert on Saturday night, including artists like James Taylor, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, Bailey Zimmerman, Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, The Avett Brothers, and Pramalee. The owner of the Carolina Panthers NFL team donated the stadium for free to organize the concert.
Luke Combs was born and raised in North Carolina and wanted to help the place that gave him all of his childhood memories. He wrote:
"Being able to give back to the place that gave me so much. There are so many people to thank for helping making this night possible on such short notice. My team, band and crew worked so hard to pull this off and I seriously can’t thank them enough."
Combs added:
"The Panthers front office team, The Tepper family, AEG, SES, Livenation, the venue staff, all the sponsors, the state of North Carolina, all the performers and their teams for donating their time and resources to this effort. The list is long and if I missed anyone I apologize but you know who you are. We were able to raise 24.5 MILLION DOLLARS for the people of Western North Carolina and I’m so thankful and humbled to be able to be a part of that. There were countless friends, family, and neighbors there and you could truly feel the love in that stadium last night."
Former NASCAR Cup Series driver and owner of Xfinity Series team JR Motorsports, Dale Earnhardt Jr. also attended the concert.
