NASCAR driver Harrison Burton had an underwhelming season in the 2024 Cup Series campaign. Despite his struggles, Burton emerged victorious in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway and secured his spot in the playoffs. On Sunday, his fiancée Jenna Petty shared a four-word verdict on Burton's 2024 Cup Series season.
Burton's victory at Dayton International Speedway is labeled as historic for several reasons. It marked his first Cup Series victory, and the 100th race victory for his team, Wood Brother Racing. Moreover, Harrison Burton joined the short list of NASCAR's father-son duos, who have a Cup Series race victory to their name.
The former WBR driver's fiancée Jenna Petty took pictures with her husband while they were in attendance at the Charlotte Convention Center for NASCAR's Award Ceremony. Sharing a picture on her Instagram on Sunday, November 24, she wrote:
"A season to remember🥀♥️"
Harrison Burton competed full-time in the Cup Series, driving the #21 Ford for Wood Brothers Racing. He is notable as the first driver born in the 2000s to race in NASCAR's top division. In his four-year career in the Cup Series, he has secured one trip to victory lane and six top-ten finishes. Despite his significant victory at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona, he could not retain his spot in NASCAR's premier division and will be replaced by former SHR driver Josh Berry.
Burton's future was recently secured in the Xfinity Series, where he will pilot the #15 Ford full-time for AM Racing, which was initially driven by Hailie Deegan.
Harrison Burton’s fiancée Jenna Petty hilariously commented on his 'terrifying' outfit for NASCAR Awards Banquet
As mentioned above, Harrison Burton and his fiancée Jenna Petty attended the NASCAR Awards Ceremony in Charlotte. While on the red carpet, the couple was interviewed by NASCAR where they gave a sneak peek into their personal lives.
While being interviewed, Burton hilariously pointed out that the clothes he was wearing were not what he had originally planned to wear for the prestigious event, and made a sly comment hinting towards it being Jenna Petty's fault. He said:
"Honestly, I bought this suit today which is kind of terrifying. I'm not going to point fingers but someone washed my other suit and it might've shrunk a little bit," Burton said (via NASCAR).
Petty immediately snapped back with a humourous tone and said:
"Somebody put it in the dirty clothes hamper and when things are in the hamper, they end up in the wash."
"Probably, for a long time now," Jenna comically said of her 'marital issues.'
Moreover, Harrison Burton also expressed his gratitude for having the honor of securing the 100th race victory for WBR and said that no one could take that away from not just him, but the entire #21 Ford team.
