"Getting engaged was scary" - Harrison Burton on proposing to Jenna Petty

In a recent interview, Harrison Burton said that proposing to his girlfriend was more nerve-wracking than racing at Daytona. He said he felt confident in his racing but proposing was new and made him nervous.

"The proposal was much more scary than anything else I've ever done in my life, honestly. But, um, you know, the nice thing about racing is I kind of know what I'm doing, and I've studied and prepared. Not that I wasn't prepared, but it's definitely nothing I've ever done before, right? And, getting engaged was scary. I knew she'd say yes, but I was still nervous. I don't know why," Burton said via Sports360AZ (01:50).

In the same interview, Burton also talked about his time with Wood Brothers Racing and earning their 100th win in NASCAR. He shared how he has grown as a person and learned more about racing this year.

"So, it's been good. It's been a really good learning experience, and I'm walking away from this a much better race car driver than I was beforehand. I feel like next year in Xfinity, I'll be able to show that," he added (01:28).

After three years in the Cup Series, Burton will return to the Xfinity Series with AM Racing in 2025.
